Projections from the Intergenerational Report (IGR)show that Australia’s 65-year-
old and above population will double to around 25% in the next 40 years. This
means a permanent change to all aspects of society, as there are fewer people
entering the workforce and more people struggling with infertility.
A bigger impact it brings is the national outcomes, since more people need to
address their changing needs as they age—leading more people to move to states
friendlier to seniors—like Victoria.
