The slum population in India is mushrooming at an alarming rate. Economic deprivation and social and
physical decay in these slums are leading to a formidable increase in health problems. The most severely
affected are the young children in these slum clusters as they are exposed to harsh living standards. The
study was conducted in the Kishangarh slum in South-West Delhi in November 2018 during a health camp
conducted by an NGO (Non-Governmental Organisation) in Kishangarh. 469 children attended the health
camp. The collected data was recorded in pretested questionnaires and entered into Microsoft Excel 2007
and Google Spreadsheet.

A B S T R A C T
Cities are being built based on the concepts of the comfortable, easy, and fast for the inhabitants. However, what is being constructed is promoting physical inactivity, and people are finding that what was being considered as convenient for daily life is, in fact, harmful to their physical health. The life of a city relies on the activity of the inhabitants who are the breathing engine of the built environment. Hence, the balance between physical activity and mental activity (e.g., office work) should be maintained because the more people are physically healthy, the more they are productive and the more the city experiences economic growth which all leads to satisfaction and happiness among the city’s inhabitants. Therefore, a city that facilitates the reach to physical activity helps its inhabitants to overcome many physical health issues such as overweight and obesity, the causes of many physical complications that can affect mental health over time. This study points to the many components of a city that beats overweight issues and especially obesity. One of this healing city’s aspects is the presence of green spaces and the green mobility that typically promotes walking and cycling instead of driving cars. Moreover, this city could foster the healing of prolonged stress and overall mental health related to human inactivity. Its analysis is based on in-depth interviews and results of previous empirical research in urban planning, psychology, and neuroarchitecture regarding people's perception of the visual environment they live in.The case study is the city of Beirut: in-depth interviews were conducted with a representative sample of Beirutis (people whose families come from the Beirut city and who were born in this city and are still living in it). These interviews helped measure these participants’ satisfaction with the physical activities and social life that is accessible for all the inhabitants through inclusive urban planning (such as clean open spaces, parks, sidewalks, free or inexpensive public spaces, facilities for green transportation, etc.). The results of the interviews analysis were supported with past data demonstrating the increasing obesity issues in Lebanon and previous data in urban and psychological studies that expound the way the brain processes the urban spaces that increase satisfaction and the urban areas that the city should be offering to its inhabitants for positive health outcomes. The results uncovered the cycle of physical health, mental health, and social contacts which altogether affect the soul of a city where the aim is first and foremost the right to a healthy lifestyle.

Gentrification is an upward shift in income, education, occupational levels, and house values. Gentrification has a general effect on the increase in inequality by widening the gap between the poor and the rich in the society (Lees, 2015). On the other hand, revitalization is restoring something to an active condition by investing in the community mainly on the resident parts (Xian & Chen, 2015). Additionally, a feral community is a metropolis with a population of more than one million individuals in the state. In feral communities, the structures continue to grow, and the majority of the occupants do not voluntarily leave. ]
Therefore, there are several negative and positive effects posed by gentrification, revitalization, and feral communities. For example, The positive effects that are associated with the gentrification shortly are that there will be an increase in the tax revenue in the community as gentrification seeks to bring more people to the community area with a wide range of interest in developing the community and funding various businesses.
Additionally, there will be a boost in the local economy in the future as there is the introduction of the wealthy groups into the community seeking to improve the economy of the particular community. Also, revitalisation seeks to improve the physical and social environments in the community which have been deposited hence improving the community standards,
The negative effects caused is that there is an increasing number of crime in the community areas as several youths are found to be unemployed; hence they resort to crime and violence in the community. Additionally, there is the issue of inequality where several individuals are discriminated in various aspects and hence are not able to receive the various services like education hence there are the disparity issues. Moreover, there is also the issue of the inefficient healthcare system as there has been an increased aging population without the proper healthcare condition that they deserve. Additionally, gentrification has also seen the collapse of various business in the black community areas while in the white sectors, businesses continue as usual. This has the effect of segregation and inequality arises.

For ensuring adequate provision of green spaces prevailing legal/developmental framework needs to be appropriately, reviewed, revised and redefined. Green Spaces need to be made integral part of the urban infrastructure and adequately reflected in the local infrastructure plans. Looking at the multiplicity of usages/purposes served and large number of benefits accruing, cities would need to be made more clean, green and eco-friendly by providing quality green spaces at prescribed norms, as part of urban infrastructure/ long term planning, development , management process. This can help and ensure making cities; more livable, sustainable, safe, inclusive, resilient, happy and healthy places to live in and work.

In 2022, the first commercial application of MetaArray™ was performed at the site. MetaArray™ utilizes statistical analysis, such as principal component analysis and multivariate analysis to provide evidence that reductive dechlorination is active or even that it is slowing. This creates actionable data allowing users to save money by making important site management decisions earlier.

Water polluted by dyestuffs compounds is a global threat to health and the environment; accordingly, we prepared a green novel sorbent chemical and Physical system from an algae, chitosan and chitosan nanoparticle and impregnated with algae with chitosan nanocomposite for the sorption of Malachite green dye from water. The algae with chitosan nanocomposite by a simple method and used as a recyclable and effective adsorbent for the removal of malachite green dye from aqueous solutions. Algae, chitosan, chitosan nanoparticle and algae with chitosan nanocomposite were characterized using different physicochemical methods. The functional groups and chemical compounds found in algae, chitosan, chitosan algae, chitosan nanoparticle, and chitosan nanoparticle with algae were identified using FTIR, SEM, and TGADTA/DTG techniques. The optimal adsorption conditions, different dosages, pH and Temperature the amount of algae with chitosan nanocomposite were determined. At optimized conditions and the batch equilibrium studies more than 99% of the dye was removed. The adsorption process data matched well kinetics showed that the reaction order for dye varied with pseudo-first order and pseudo-second order. Furthermore, the maximum adsorption capacity of the algae with chitosan nanocomposite toward malachite green dye reached as high as 15.5mg/g, respectively. Finally, multiple times reusing of algae with chitosan nanocomposite and removing dye from a real wastewater has made it a promising and attractive option for further practical applications.

The popularity of functional foods among scientists and common people has been increasing day by day. Awareness and modernization make the consumer think better regarding food and nutrition. Now a day’s individual knows very well about the relation between food consumption and disease prevalence. Humans have a diversity of microbes in the gut that together form the gut microflora. Probiotics are the health-promoting live microbial cells improve host health through gut and brain connection and fighting against harmful bacteria. Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus are the two bacterial genera which are considered to be probiotic. These good bacteria are facing challenges of viability. There are so many factors such as sensitivity to heat, pH, acidity, osmotic effect, mechanical shear, chemical components, freezing and storage time as well which affects the viability of probiotics in the dairy food matrix as well as in the gut. Multiple efforts have been done in the past and ongoing in present for these beneficial microbial population stability until their destination in the gut. One of a useful technique known as microencapsulation makes the probiotic effective in the diversified conditions and maintain these microbe’s community to the optimum level for achieving targeted benefits. Dairy products are found to be an ideal vehicle for probiotic incorporation. It has been seen that the encapsulated microbial cells show higher viability than the free cells in different processing and storage conditions as well as against bile salts in the gut. They make the food functional when incorporated, without affecting the product sensory characteristics.

Evolving Lifecycles with High Resolution Site Characterization (HRSC) and 3-D...
The incorporation of a 3DCSM and completion of HRSC provided a tool for enhanced, data-driven, decisions to support a change in remediation closure strategies. Currently, an approved pilot study has been obtained to shut-down the remediation systems (ISCO, P&T) and conduct a hydraulic study under non-pumping conditions. A separate micro-biological bench scale treatability study was competed that yielded positive results for an emerging innovative technology. As a result, a field pilot study has commenced with results expected in nine-twelve months. With the results of the hydraulic study, field pilot studies and an updated risk assessment leading site monitoring optimization cost lifecycle savings upwards of $15MM towards an alternatively evolved best available technology remediation closure strategy.

- 2. It is known that… Cities can play a critical role in determining health and health equity through the provision of basic goods such as health and social services.
- 3. By 2030, six out of every 10 people will live in cities. By 2050, seven of every 10 people will do. The nature of urban change differs within and among regions.
- 4. The process of urbanization is often accompanied by improvements in indicators of health and life expectancy.
- 5. But there is a unequal distribution of health both within countries and within cities.
- 6. The next question…? What are the attributes of urban governance, urban daily living conditions (social and physical environments) and climate change that contribute to urban health inequities?
- 7. Urban planning and design (physical environment) Environmental change (climate) Urban social conditions Urban Governance
- 8. Evidences There is a reciprocal relationship between urban social conditions and the built enviornment.
- 9. The poor or disadvantaged almost always live in the worst housing or worst neibourhoods.
- 10. And they are less likely to access public spaces and goods as a result of social and physical barriers.
- 11. Therefore, good urban planning can help offset social disadvantage, while bad urban planning can exacerbate it.
- 12. Urban planning can help mitigate climate change, depending upon how energy-efficient and carbon- intensive the cityʼs buildings, urban built form and tranport system are.
- 13. The nature of the physical environment can also assist people in adapting to climate change.
- 14. The effects of climate change and other forms of environmental degradation can exacerbate health inequities that are rooted in social and economic conditions.
- 15. When the natural and built environments and social and economic conditions are well integrated, the product is both improved health and greater health equity, and even more broadly, higher and more equitable levels of human development.
- 16. This is to the benefit of the citizens, their communities, local business and employers, the city and indeed the nation as a whole.
- 17. In rich countries, children from poor socioeconomic classes suffer more injuries and deaths from road crashes than their counterparts from high income groups.
- 18. The disruption of natural environmental systems, including climate change, has profound implications for the health and survival of people globally.
- 19. Crime and violence are more pronounced in urban areas, and specially in slum areas.
- 20. A social determinants approach suggest that improving living conditions in areas such as income, housing, transport, employment, education, social support and health services is central to improve the health of urban populations.
- 21. The overall quality of the urban environment can have impacts upon physical and mental health.
- 22. Many recrational facilities (recreation centres, youth centres, parks, physical fitness facilities, bicicle rentals, swimming pools and gyms) are unequally distributed, with poor beighbourhoods at a strong disadvantage.
- 23. Therefore… The urban physical form, its social infrastructure, the added pressure of climate change and the role of governance could determine equitable health benefits from urbanization in the context of globalization.
- 24. Urban planning and design have a particularly role in terms of influencing the urban physical environment and thus influencing health inequities.
- 25. The health sector need to stablish partnerships with other sectors and civil society to carry out a broad spectrum of interventions.
- 26. Strong political commitment to better urban planning and governance is crucial to create the intended improvements in sustained living conditions and health equity.
