Health
. Health is define as a state of complete physical, mental and
social well being and merely an absence of disease.
• Health Education
Health Education deals with the natural laws pertaining to the
body, mind and environment. These laws relate to fresh air,
sun light, diet, exercise, rest, sleep, cleanliness, climate, good
habit and above all life-style.

7. Community
• Community means commonness.
• A community is bound together by common
needs, common goals, similar customs,
beliefs.
The educational process begins in early life with
the mother’s concern over child’s health.
It continue through adolescence and adult life.

8. Why Health Education is needed
• Health can not be thrust on people but must
be won through their own efforts.
• Ignorance, prejudices and many social and
cultural factors impair the health.
• Education is needed to replace ignorance by
knowledge , bring about change in beliefs and
attitude in a direction favourable to health.
