Health care social media landscape involves several emerging communities focused on different aspects of health and medicine. These include Health 2.0 focused on startups and challenges, Medicine 2.0 taking an academic approach, e-Patients focused on advocacy and patient communities, HCSM focused on marketing, and Pharma 2.0 focused on social media marketing from pharmaceutical companies within FDA regulations. There is also overlap between these communities as social media becomes more pervasive in health care.
