A HEALTHIER YOU
Get to Know Your Health
Understanding your health can be the first step toward improvement, and a preventive care exam and a health
assessment are great ways to get started.
PREVENTIVE CARE:
Getting the right preventive care services at the right time can help you stay healthier by:
· Preventing certain illnesses and health conditions from happening; or
· Detecting a health problem at a stage that may be easier to treat.
That’s why your Savers medical plan covers designated preventive care services at no cost to you. Preventive
care services are provided when you don’t have any symptoms and haven’t been diagnosed with the health issue
connected with the preventive service. For example, a flu vaccination is given to prevent the flu before you get it.
Checkups, immunizations and screenings are an important part of staying healthy. They can help detect or prevent
serious diseases and keep you in tip-top shape. And, if your doctor is part of the Cigna network, preventive services
are 100% covered. You primary care physician can help you coordinate what tests and shots are right for you,
based on your age, gender and family history.
· Make a Checklist- Ask your doctor about these key vaccinations and screenings:

CHILDREN’S PREVENTIVE CARE:
Here are the top five things you can do to help keep your kids healthy:
1. Get recommended vaccines and screenings tests.
2. Encourage physical activity.
3. Feed them healthy meals and snacks.
4. Help your child stay at a healthy weight.
5. Provide preventive medicines if your child’s doctor prescribes them.
The next time you bring your child in for a checkup, talk to your pediatrician about which preventive tests and
screenings are right for your child based on age, gender and family history.
If your child misses a scheduled vaccination, you don’t need to start over. Just bring your child back in to your
pediatrician’s office for the shot. The doctor will keep your child up-to-date on all vaccinations. Questions? Talk to
your doctor.
