on the association of alcohol use in pregnancy and offspring mental health disorders. We conducted a systematic review to evaluate studies examining this association.
Methods: Studies were identified by searching PsycINFO, PubMed and Web of Science, and were included if they examined alcohol use during pregnancy as an exposure and
offspring mental health at age 3 or older as an outcome. We excluded non-English language publications, and studies of foetal alcohol syndrome.
Results: Thirty-three studies were included and were categorised by mental health outcomes: anxiety/depression, emotional problems, total internalising problems, total
problem score, and conduct disorder. Over half of the analyses reported a positive association of intrauterine alcohol exposure and negative offspring mental health outcomes.
Conclusions: Our review suggests that maternal alcohol use during pregnancy is associated with negative offspring mental health outcomes, even at low to moderate levels of alcohol use. Future investigation using methods that allow stronger causal inference are needed to further investigate if these associations shown are causal.

This study examined the effectiveness of the Atkins diet for weight loss. 100 participants who joined an Atkins diet Facebook group were surveyed before and after starting the diet. Statistical analysis found a significant difference between average weights before (89.24kg) and after (73.79kg) practicing the Atkins diet for an average of 12.75 months, demonstrating the diet was effective for weight loss. The Atkins diet restricts carbohydrate intake to induce ketosis and burn stored fat for energy. This study provides additional evidence that low-carbohydrate, high-protein diets like Atkins can help reduce weight more than low-fat diets in the short-term.

A Study Of Age At Menarche And Body Composition In School Girls Of Metro cities
Two thousand and seventeen subjects of various schools from two important metro cities in Maharashtra namely Mumbai and Pune in the age group of 10-14 year were studied to examine association between age at menarche and body composition. Data was collected through General Questionnaire & their body composition was assessed using analyzer (Tanita model no. BC 420 PM A). Out of the total sample, 370 students with mean age 12.35 year ±1.009 had attained menarche (AM) in the recent period of their recruitment whereas 1,646 girls had not attained menarche meaning they were perimenarcheal (PM) at the recruitment with mean age 11.42 year ±1.065. A concerning fact established by our study was that 10% of girls
from our population had attained menarche when they were just 11 yrs and 52.18% girls had attained menarche before they were 12 years of age. Results showed that All the body composition parameter except total body water percentage (TBW %) were higher in AM group compared to PM group. It was observed that fat percentage and fat mass was negatively
correlated with age at menarche which was statistically significant at 0.01 levels. Fat free mass, muscle mass, TBW (kg) were weakly negatively correlated whereas TBW (%) was positively correlated with age at menarche which was statistically significant at 0.01 levels.

Methodology A cross sectional pilot study was conducted in corporate school of Jalandhar, Punjab and school children aged between13 years to 15 years of age were recruited by purposive random sampling method. Children with physical limitations, mental disability or children undergoing any form of clinical therapy were not included in this study. Anthropometric assessment was done and data were analyzed models using SPSS P value less than 0.05 was considered as statistically significant. Results The WHO BMI chart was used to calculate BMI of adolescents. Among 47 participants the prevalence of obesity was 4.2 and 17.02 were overweight, 60 were under weight and 19 were healthy. Based on the sex 7.40 males were having prevalence of obesity , 22.22 males and 11.11 females were having over weight.. The demographic variables revealed that, 57 of participants were from 15 yrs age group, 26 were of 14 yrs age group and the lowest 17 of them were 13 yrs old. Determinants which contribute prevalence of obesity reveal that, there is a significant association between selected socio demographic variables with sedentary behavior P value at 0.001 level which shows highly significant. There is a highly significant association between level of obesity with selected demographic variables in areas like obesity, mothers qualification and family history of obesity at P 0.001, P 0.05 levels. test value High percentage 76.7% of mothers were adequate knowledge, 23.3% f mothers were moderately
adequate knowledge and none of them were inadequate knowledge.
Conclusion: This chapter has clearly shown that the nursing intervention package is an effective strategy in

A Study Of Age At Menarche And Body Composition In School Girls Of Metro cities
Two thousand and seventeen subjects of various schools from two important metro cities in Maharashtra namely Mumbai and Pune in the age group of 10-14 year were studied to examine association between age at menarche and body composition. Data was collected through General Questionnaire & their body composition was assessed using analyzer (Tanita model no. BC 420 PM A). Out of the total sample, 370 students with mean age 12.35 year ±1.009 had attained menarche (AM) in the recent period of their recruitment whereas 1,646 girls had not attained menarche meaning they were perimenarcheal (PM) at the recruitment with mean age 11.42 year ±1.065. A concerning fact established by our study was that 10% of girls
from our population had attained menarche when they were just 11 yrs and 52.18% girls had attained menarche before they were 12 years of age. Results showed that All the body composition parameter except total body water percentage (TBW %) were higher in AM group compared to PM group. It was observed that fat percentage and fat mass was negatively
correlated with age at menarche which was statistically significant at 0.01 levels. Fat free mass, muscle mass, TBW (kg) were weakly negatively correlated whereas TBW (%) was positively correlated with age at menarche which was statistically significant at 0.01 levels.

Objective To assess prevalence of obesity in adolescents of selected schools of Jalandhar, Punjab, to assess Obesity determinants in adolescents of selected schools of alandhar, Punjab, To find out the association between the findings of the study and the selected demographic variables, and In a view to prepare a pamphlet on prevention of obesity. Methodology A cross sectional pilot study was conducted in corporate school of Jalandhar, Punjab and school children aged between13 years to 15 years of age were recruited by purposive random sampling method. Children with physical limitations, mental disability or children undergoing any form of clinical therapy were not included in this study. Anthropometric assessment was done and data were analyzed models using SPSS P value less than 0.05 was considered as statistically significant. Results The WHO BMI chart was used to calculate BMI of adolescents. Among 47 participants the prevalence of obesity was 4.2 and 17.02 were overweight, 60 were under weight and 19 were healthy. Based on the sex 7.40 males were having prevalence of obesity , 22.22 males and 11.11 females were having over weight.. The demographic variables revealed that, 57 of participants were from 15 yrs age group, 26 were of 14 yrs age group and the lowest 17 of them were 13 yrs old. Determinants which contribute prevalence of obesity reveal that, there is a significant association between selected socio demographic variables with sedentary behavior P value at 0.001 level which shows highly significant. There is a highly significant association between level of obesity with selected demographic variables in areas like obesity, mothers qualification and family history of obesity at P 0.001, P 0.05 levels. This randomized pilot study tested a 12-week lifestyle intervention for obese Latino adolescents that included either guided imagery (GI) or digital storytelling (DS) in addition to lifestyle education. The study aimed to determine if GI improved insulin resistance, behaviors, stress, and biomarkers more than DS alone.

The research sought to review the role of television in specific activities. Amongst them, one of the effects of TV is the fact that it replaces vigorous activities. As such, there is a positive correlation between the time in which one spends on TV watching and being overweight. This is regardless of the ages of the people. Abstract
Objective: This population-based birth cohort study examined whether normal weight obesity is associated with metabolic
disorders in young adults in a middle-income country undergoing rapid nutrition transition.
Design and Methods: The sample involved 1,222 males and females from the 1978/79 Ribeirão Preto birth cohort, Brazil,
aged 23–25 years. NWO was defined as body mass index (BMI) within the normal range (18.5–24.9 kg/m2) and the sum of
subscapular and triceps skinfolds above the sex-specific 90th percentiles of the study sample. It was also defined as normal
BMI and % BF (body fat) .23% in men and .30% in women. Insulin resistance (IR), insulin sensitivity and secretion were
based on the Homeostasis Model Assessment (HOMA) model.
Results: In logistic models, after adjusting for age, sex and skin colour, NWO was significantly associated with Metabolic
Syndrome (MS) according to the Joint Interim Statement (JIS) definition (Odds Ratio OR = 6.83; 95% Confidence Interval CI
2.84–16.47). NWO was also associated with HOMA2-IR (OR = 3.81; 95%CI 1.57–9.28), low insulin sensitivity (OR = 3.89; 95%CI
2.39–6.33), and high insulin secretion (OR = 2.17; 95%CI 1.24–3.80). Significant associations between NWO and some
components of the MS were also detected: high waist circumference (OR = 8.46; 95%CI 5.09–14.04), low High Density
Lipoprotein cholesterol (OR = 1.65; 95%CI 1.11–2.47) and high triglyceride levels (OR = 1.93; 95%CI 1.02–3.64). Most
estimates changed little after further adjustment for early and adult life variables.
Conclusions: NWO was associated with MS and IR, suggesting that clinical assessment of excess body fat in normal-BMI
individuals should begin early in life even in middle-income countries.

Breast cancer: Post menopausal endocrine therapy
Breast cancer in postmenopausal women with hormone receptor-positive (HR+) status is a common and complex condition that necessitates a multifaceted approach to management. HR+ breast cancer means that the cancer cells grow in response to hormones such as estrogen and progesterone. This subtype is prevalent among postmenopausal women and typically exhibits a more indolent course compared to other forms of breast cancer, which allows for a variety of treatment options.
Diagnosis and Staging
The diagnosis of HR+ breast cancer begins with clinical evaluation, imaging, and biopsy. Imaging modalities such as mammography, ultrasound, and MRI help in assessing the extent of the disease. Histopathological examination and immunohistochemical staining of the biopsy sample confirm the diagnosis and hormone receptor status by identifying the presence of estrogen receptors (ER) and progesterone receptors (PR) on the tumor cells.
Staging involves determining the size of the tumor (T), the involvement of regional lymph nodes (N), and the presence of distant metastasis (M). The American Joint Committee on Cancer (AJCC) staging system is commonly used. Accurate staging is critical as it guides treatment decisions.
Treatment Options
Endocrine Therapy
Endocrine therapy is the cornerstone of treatment for HR+ breast cancer in postmenopausal women. The primary goal is to reduce the levels of estrogen or block its effects on cancer cells. Commonly used agents include:
Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators (SERMs): Tamoxifen is a SERM that binds to estrogen receptors, blocking estrogen from stimulating breast cancer cells. It is effective but may have side effects such as increased risk of endometrial cancer and thromboembolic events.
Aromatase Inhibitors (AIs): These drugs, including anastrozole, letrozole, and exemestane, lower estrogen levels by inhibiting the aromatase enzyme, which converts androgens to estrogen in peripheral tissues. AIs are generally preferred in postmenopausal women due to their efficacy and safety profile compared to tamoxifen.
Selective Estrogen Receptor Downregulators (SERDs): Fulvestrant is a SERD that degrades estrogen receptors and is used in cases where resistance to other endocrine therapies develops.
Combination Therapies
Combining endocrine therapy with other treatments enhances efficacy. Examples include:
Endocrine Therapy with CDK4/6 Inhibitors: Palbociclib, ribociclib, and abemaciclib are CDK4/6 inhibitors that, when combined with endocrine therapy, significantly improve progression-free survival in advanced HR+ breast cancer.
Endocrine Therapy with mTOR Inhibitors: Everolimus, an mTOR inhibitor, can be added to endocrine therapy for patients who have developed resistance to aromatase inhibitors.
Chemotherapy
Chemotherapy is generally reserved for patients with high-risk features, such as large tumor size, high-grade histology, or extensive lymph node involvement. Regimens often include anthracyclines and taxanes.

Keywords: acne diet, acne prevention, acne help Is there any proper acne diet that can help in your acne prevention? Are your acne problem and your diet related? To answer to this, it can be safely said that YES, THEY ARE RELATED. But it is still being researched on and it is still a prelims stage to assert any such claim. So Many Medical Studies And Researches Have Been Done… Since the 60’s, it’s being studied on whether acne and diet is related. In the 1969, a study was done on a group of teenagers to verify the relation between cocoa and acne. As far as the results are concerned, the study confirmed that there’s no relation between acne and cocoa. At least, it made no big difference. But remember, it was only cocoa that was tested. In 1971, another study on various college students was performed. But unfortunately, it was not conducted well with any specific data, result stats or calculation of baseline diets. To be honest, it was confusing and intriguing at most. Coming back to the present times, an epidemiological study was executed by Dr. Lindbergh and Dr. Cordain on the indigenous hunting and gathering tribes of Papua, New Guinea, and a small villagers group of Ache, Paraguay. They revealed not a single sign of acne problem and that was a surprise. Was it their lifestyle or their acne diet? One medical experiment in the recent times has divulged some interesting results. It was carried out by the Associate Prof. Neil Mann (Applied Sciences, RMIT University) on forty three males (15-23 years old), and sponsored by the ‘Royal Melbourne Hospital (dermatology department) and RMIT University, Australia. It spanned for two complete years when one of the groups was provided with high protein-low glucose diet (low glycemic index) and another with just the opposite (high glycemic index), and their metabolism levels of participants were discerned due to the changes in your insulin and glucose containing diets. So, Are They Really Connected? Is There Anything Like Acne Diet?

It was previously known that insulin is the master hormone that controls the other hormones and the body, not to mention the premise among the medical fraternity that hormonal fluxes create acne problem. Also that, the growth hormone flare-ups can lead to acne problem. So, it is pretty understandable now that our insulin levels have a big role in the acne problem. And here we can construe that our diet also has a role to play in our acne problem. So, can we conclude that some tweaks in your daily diet, turning it into an acne diet, will help you in your acne prevention? No, it still can’t be assured but yes, a healthy low glycemic diet (comprising of fresh fruits, vegetables, unrefined food products and so forth) sure aids in acne help.
