Social entrepreneurship first emerged in the 1960s and 1970s to promote social change. Today, non-profits, foundations, governments, and individuals work to fund and advise social entrepreneurs worldwide. While social entrepreneurship aims to create both social and economic value, its definition remains unclear and overlaps with other fields. However, this lack of definition provides an opportunity for researchers from different disciplines to rethink key concepts.

Poor and Rich - The Facts
DEFINING POVERTY...
Absolute poverty is defined according to an absolute minimum standard, often called the ‘poverty line’. Relative poverty means that you are poor in relation to those around you. Income poverty (‘less than a dollar a day’, for example), means that you are poor if you have less money than the defined poverty line for your country. Human poverty takes into account other factors, such as life expectancy, infant malnutrition, illiteracy and lack of food or clean water. Basic needs definitions also go beyond money, to include all the things that a person needs in order to survive – including employment and participation in society.
MEASURING POVERTY...
Measuring poverty is always a problem, especially if you recognize that just using money is not enough. There are a number of new measurements emerging, like the Index of Sustainable Economic Welfare.1 This measures ‘quality’ economic activity by, for example, making a subtraction for air pollution and an addition for unpaid household labour.
Another method is the Human Poverty Index. This is ranked according to three main areas of deprivation: survival; knowledge and a decent standard of living. In the industrial world, where the Index also includes social exclusion, some 7 to 17% of the populations are classified as poor. The higher the percentage figure, the greater the poverty in that country

Existe un consenso, diríamos que universal, con relación a que hay muchas cosas que tenemos que cambiar. Pero la pregunta que me hago es: ¿Seremos capaces de construir acuerdos que permitan ir rellenando esos abismos que nos separan, para lograr la equidad, con JUSTICIA? - DFID's cash transfer programs succeeded in their primary goal of reducing poverty by increasing incomes and consumption for poor households. However, results were more mixed for secondary goals like education, health and empowering women.
- DFID exceeded its target of reaching 6 million people with cash transfers between 2011-2015. However, it lacks a strategic approach to strengthening national cash transfer systems and building sustainability.

mortality in the country. The role of donor agencies, national and state ministries of health is very important in
reducing these challenges in Nigeria. The study reviewed available secondary information sources. The study
revealed that the role of International donor agencies includes supporting the State Governments with funds,
provision of free mosquito treated nets, provision of subsidized drugs, provision of vaccines for childhood killer
diseases etc. Some of the challenge affecting donor agencies includes diversion of funds of by relevant bodies
for personal use, lack of political will to implement programme, cultural and religious beliefs about sickness and
illness etc. Based on these, some recommendations were made on the fights against malaria which includes
improved funding by government, zero tolerance to corruption, recruitment of more health personnel,
establishments of more primary health centres especially in the rural areas.

Abstract
The global AIDS crisis has been a major health and development issue since its first report several decades ago. To address this issue and ultimately halt the epidemic, many organizations have been formed. Among these organizations is the Global AIDS Alliance (GAA). It is a non-profit organization located in Washington D.C. The mission of GAA is to incentivize financial recourses and political will required to address the crisis of international AIDS and minimize its effects on poor nations that have been adversely impacted by the epidemic. Since its foundation, this organization has taken a leadership role in the shaping of discussions of AIDS policies and assembling campaigns with an aim of breaking through ingrained governmental inaction as well as speed up the pace of international response to HIV and AIDS. The organization combines public education and media outreach with aimed grassroots mobilization and coalition-building to increase awareness. It also aims to encourage activism in advocacy support in persuading policymakers in the U.S and other decision-makers to form an all-inclusive response to the international AIDS issues.
Introduction
AIDS (acquired immunodeficiency syndrome) is a result of HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) and among the most adverse development and health issues. Currently, roughly 37.9 million individuals have AIDS, and tens of millions of these persons have succumbed to death from causes related to AIDS since the emergence of this epidemic (KFF, 2019). The majority of those infected, or at risk of infection, have no access to care, treatment, and prevention. Considerable international efforts have been implemented to mitigate the issue in recent decades. Despite some obstacles, there has been great progress. Among the organizations formed by the global community is the Global Aids Alliance (KFF, 2019). A non-profit organization, Global AIDS Alliance (GAA) was founded in 2001 and has its headquarters in Washington D.C. (KFF, 2019). GAA is dedicated to an aggressive and collaborative campaign with an objective of stopping international AIDS through improved policies, mobilization of awareness, and increasing of funds (WHO, 2019). The organization closely works with different partner firms, including groups of human rights, prominent religious organizations, AIDS activist parties, and humanitarian agencies (WHO, 2019). GAA has made positive impacts by advocating for HIV awareness, education, and treatment, as well as collecting and providing resources and funds. ...

The theme for 2009 is "Universal Access and Human Rights" to promote equal access to treatment and end discrimination. Over 33 million people currently live with HIV/AIDS, mostly in developing countries, and young people are disproportionately affected.
