This document describes a youth range camp developed by a committee of scientists, extension agents, instructors, and teachers to educate high school students about rangeland science. The camp's curriculum covered topics like GPS, map reading, plant and soil identification, grazing, weeds, and wildlife. Students gained hands-on experience and worked in teams on presentations. Evaluations found the camp significantly increased students' knowledge of rangeland issues and management concepts, and some students are now considering natural resource careers.
