Data Breaches can come in the form of weak passwords, untrustworthy
staff and simple mistake like, leaving data that’s stored securely,
secured doors unlocked.

In looking at today’s healthcare data breach landscape, it’s important to
understand where these security holes are, what they mean to
individual healthcare organizations and what can be done to prevent a
breach from happening. Healthcare organizations must stay ahead of
the competition and using technology is a big way of doing so.

Many organizations are providing training on how to secure information
by utilizing the basic standards of care and teachings on HIPPA privacy
laws to ensure patient information security.

A good way to control patient information breeches is to put enforce a
patient information safety team who leads the entire organization on
securing patient data.The team can keep track of how and when patient
data is being accessed and what use as well as by who.The safety team
manager can report to the organization’s board in efforts to keep all
informed of what is working and not.
