Last week news that Waverley council was considering

In 2014, the Renewable Energy Target faced an existential threat from a hostile Federal Government, which set out to undermine the policy by launching the notorious “Warburton Review” headed by noted climate skeptic and former head of Caltex Dick Warburton.
In August 2014, the long-awaited findings unsurprisingly recommended axing the Target, despite modelling conducted for the review showing the policy would reduce the wholesale price of power in the long run if it was retained in full.
In response to this outright threat to the future of solar and renewables, Solar Citizens launched our Keep Solar Strong campaign which in large part focused on securing public support from the Federal Senate crossbench - a mix of minor parties including the Palmer United Party (PUP), Australian Motoring Enthusiasts Party (AMEP) and a number of independents. Our strategy also aimed to reach out to Coalition MPs in order to garner support and educate politicians about the Target’s importance.
100% Renewable is a community-initiated campaign working to move Australia towards a future powered entirely by clean, renewable energy. Through a nationwide community organising program we empower local leaders to build community power, engage decision makers and win measures that boost the development of renewable energy in Australia.
Since our launch four years ago we have worked with over 100 community groups around the country and built a supporter base of 75,000+ people. 100% Renewable is non-partisan and has no affiliations with any political party.

“Are we even surprised these came out of his mouth?
“Ah, we can always rely on Donald Trump for providing us with the most ridiculous and outrageous quotes. So it’s no surprise that since announcing his candidacy for President, we’ve been exposed to even more ridiculousness from the businessman and TV personality.
“Who is Donald Trump?
“Trump's major campaign slogan is 'Make American great again'. His major promises are to improve the US fiscal situation with an emphasis on 'straight talking', patriotism and standing against ‘political correctness.’“
Donald Trump is the Republication candidate for President.
THE TRUMP PLAN “America has always been a trading nation. Under the Trump administration trade will flourish. However, for free trade to bring prosperity to America, it must also be fair trade. Our goal is not protectionism but accountability.”
“Fair trade that creates American jobs, increase American wages, and reduce America's trade deficit.”

4. RENEGOTIATE THE NORTH AMERICAN FREE TRADE AGREEMENT OR WITHDRAW FROM THE TRANS-PACIFIC PARTNERSHIP.
As president, Trump would have the authority to bow out of both trade deals, but going back to the drawing board for new agreements is unlikely, experts told us.
5. IMPOSE TARIFFS.
WARREN MARUYAMA, a former general counsel to the U.S. Trade Representative under Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, previously told us Trump would have the authority under a variety of trade statutes to impose higher tariffs, but added "it would lead to a trade war and cost hundreds and thousands of jobs."
HAL SHAPIRO, an attorney specializing in international trade practice, pointed to Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974, which gives the president the power to impose retaliatory tariffs on countries that violate trade agreements or engage in unfair trade practices. But Shapiro said he can’t think of "a single instance" where a U.S. company offshoring is considered an unfair trade practice by the foreign country.

“We will make America strong again. We will make America proud again. We will make America safe again. And we will make America great again.”
“I have made the tough decisions, always with an eye toward the bottom line. Perhaps it's time America was run like a business.”
“The most basic duty of government is to defend the lives of its own citizens. Any government that fails to do so is a government unworthy to lead. The American People will come first once again.”
• Presentations from sources of grant, debt and equity funding, as well as business support agencies operating in the region
• The presentations will be short and sharp giving the delegate a basis for an assessment of which funding stream/funder matches their requirements
• To have a targeted session depending on your business needs – with a session focussed on start-up/early stage businesses
In this edition we take a look at permitted development and the changes to the planning regime. Will the simplification of the planning system enable developers to get straightforward projects off the ground quickly?

The case study discusses the potential of drone delivery and the challenges that need to be addressed before it becomes widespread.
Key takeaways:
Drone delivery is in its early stages: Amazon's trial in the UK demonstrates the potential for faster deliveries, but it's still limited by regulations and technology.
Regulations are a major hurdle: Safety concerns around drone collisions with airplanes and people have led to restrictions on flight height and location.
Other challenges exist: Who will use drone delivery the most? Is it cost-effective compared to traditional delivery trucks?
Discussion questions:
Managerial challenges: Integrating drones requires planning for new infrastructure, training staff, and navigating regulations. There are also marketing and recruitment considerations specific to this technology.
External forces vary by country: Regulations, consumer acceptance, and infrastructure all differ between countries.
Demographics matter: Younger generations might be more receptive to drone delivery, while older populations might have concerns.
Stakeholders for Amazon: Customers, regulators, aviation authorities, and competitors are all stakeholders. Regulators likely hold the greatest influence as they determine the feasibility of drone delivery.
Specific ServPoints should be tailored for restaurants in all food service segments. Your ServPoints should be the centerpiece of brand delivery training (guest service) and align with your brand position and marketing initiatives, especially in high-labor-cost conditions.

1. Havant Borough Council
Elections 2nd May 2019
Information about the candidates and
parties for the forthcoming Havant
Borough Council elections for Hayling
Island East and West Wards
4. Green Party
I am representing the Green Party as a paper candidate to ensure Hayling East voters
can vote Green if they wish.
I have been an Islander for most of my life and I love the community spirit and
beautiful natural environment Hayling has to offer. I am passionate about ethical and
sustainable living and would like to encourage and support more initiatives locally.
I am a primary teacher but also work as a volunteer for the marine conservation
charity, Surfers Against Sewage. I am actively involved in protecting Hayling’s beaches
from plastic pollution and helping businesses, organisations and individuals to reduce
their single-use plastic.
Natasha
Natasha Jane Parker
Hayling East
7. Liberal Democrat Party
Hayling Island deserves and demands better!
Both your Liberal Democrat Candidates, Paul Gray for Hayling West and Wilf
Forrow for Hayling East are islanders who have lived, worked and been active
members of the community for over 40 years. They both campaign for Britain to
“Remain and Reform the EU” through the European Movement.
The Liberal Democrat pledge for Hayling Island is: New resources before new
residents.
The plan to build thousands of new homes MUST be stopped and there MUST be a
plan to improve local services and infrastructure - your island is doomed under
current Tory plans for expansion.
Paul Gray
Hayling West
Wilf Forrow
Hayling East
8. The Conservatives’ Havant Local Plan is a plan we believe that will gridlock
Hayling, and make developers rich and islanders poorer.
Without any local political opposition, the Conservatives have rammed through
a plan which woefully underestimates windfall developments by 5 to 10 times,
and will force us to take thousands more homes - most of which islanders will
never be able to afford.
The Conservatives have no plan to fix the traffic, or the flood risk, and they’re
ignoring local views. Your local Liberal Democrat candidates are committed to
vote against expansion before there is investment in services and
infrastructure.
On May 2nd you can make a positive difference by voting out the Tory monopoly
that is strangling Hayling Island, whether you think the Tories are suffocating
our island, or our NHS, or mis-handling Brexit, or are just taking you for
granted.
Paul and Wilf have consistently campaigned against the Tory cuts to
services – last year Paul and Wilf started a petition against reducing
the number of Police on Hayling. This was signed by thousands of people and
delivered to Alan Mak MP – who promptly chose to ignore the campaign.
Paul and Wilf believe that Hayling is a very special place and that its biggest
natural resource (our beautiful beaches) need more protection and better
management. They campaign for strict environmental planning and support
9. Paul and Wilf believe the recent decision to ban overnight parking for camper
vans on Hayling’s beaches is frankly ridiculous. Hayling truly shines when our
visitors feel welcome and then spend their money in local shops and businesses.
Rather than turn away tourists, Paul and Wilf would like to see investment paid
through sensible parking rules so that Hayling can thrive as a “must go” holiday
destination for people who love watersports and beautiful, clean beaches.
Paul is Chair of the Hayling Ferry Trust and is committed to keeping The Ferry as
a viable transport link. Wilf is an active member of Cycle Hayling, Cycling UK
and Sustrans, and campaigns through the council and his Hayling Islander column
for better cycling, for health, pleasure, and to reduce traffic, noise and air
pollution.
Since the Tory led council decided to outsource services to Norse, Paul and Wilf
believe they are not meeting Islander’s very reasonable expectations. Your
footpaths are overgrown, your bins are overflowing and nobody is listening. The
contract with Norse must be reviewed – Norse is putting profit before people,
with 50% of the profit going to the people of Norfolk rather than the people of
Hayling.
As councillors Paul and Wilf would be committed to open government – in
particular being 100% open about how your Council Tax is spent.
Havant and Hayling Island deserve better and your Liberal Democrat
