Hawk Eye technology was invented by Roke Manor Research in England. It uses multiple cameras and triangulation to track the path of objects in sports like cricket, tennis, and soccer. When there is a close or disputed call, Hawk Eye can instantly produce an animated replay from several angles to determine if a ball was in or out with computer generated lines projecting its path. It has provided a more accurate way to settle scoring disputes and minimize human error in officiating major sporting events since 2001.
