Title: Mobile social network dependency in the sales context
Dissertation completed and passed the final defense, May 05, 2015
Abstract:
Mobile social media is projected to become an important sales tool connecting clients directly to sales
professionals. However, excessive reliance on mobile technology could potentially lead to abuse. This study
develops an integrated model for mobile social network dependence behaviors for individual salespeople. The
research attempts to study the negative impact of mobile social networks on salespeople within the dependency
framework by studying the antecedents and the consequences of maladaptive dependency behaviors. The
researcher creates and tests a theoreticalframework for mobile social network dependence behaviors through
large-scale empirical data collection, thus creating a theoretical foundation as well as empirical evidence.
