similarities and their differences, but throughout their time at Hogwarts
they bond extremey well with each other.

3. Hogwarts School of Witchcraft andWizardry
• Hogwarts is the best school in wizarding history. Although each headmaster
has brought something new to this wonderful school, the standards have
never fallen.

4. The Houses andTheir Founders
• The 4 Hogwarts houses are: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin.
Gryffindor was founded by Godric Gryffindor, Hufflepuff founded by Hegla
Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw by Rowena Ravenclaw and Slytherin by Salazar
Slytherin. Each houses values a certain student personality. Gryffindor took
those who were brave and daring, Hufflepuff took the most kind at heart,
Ravenclaw took the most talented minds and who were keen to learn and
Slytherin took those with cunning and ambition.

5. TheTeachers
• The Headmaster of Hogwarts is Albus PercivilWolfrick Brian Dumbledore.The Deputy
Head is Professor Minerva Mcgonagall, also head of Gryffindor house. Other teachers
include Professor Filius Flitwick, Head of Ravenclaw, Professor Pomona Sprout, Head of
Hufflepuff and Professor Severus Snape, Head of Slytherin, who later becomes headmaster
of Hogwarts.There is also Madam Rolanda Hooch, teacher of flying and Professor Sybil
Trewlawney, teacher of divination.

6. The Classses
• There are over 8 Hogwarts classes you can attend. Although each class may
seem stranger than others, all of them produce the expected standard year
after year. They include Potions, Defence against the Dark Arts, Charms,
Divination, Herbolygy, Care of magical creatures andTransfiguration.

7. The Pets
• Harry’s pet is an owl called Hedwig. Ron’s first pet rat, who is really an animagi, was called
Scabbers, later on an owl named Pidwigeon replaced him. Hermione’s pet is a cat named
Crookshanks. Hagid however, owns multiple pets. Including: Norbert the Norwegian Ridgeback,
Fang the dog, Fluffy the 3 headed dog and Aragog the Acromantula (A giant spider).

8. The Ghosts
• There are many ghosts at Hogwarts.The Gryffindor’s main ghost is Sir
Nicholas De Mimsy-Porpington, also known as Nearly Headless Nick.
Hufflepuff’s main ghost is the Fat Friar. Ravenclaw’s main ghost is Helena
Ravenclaw, also known asThe Grey Lady. Slytherin’s main ghost is the
Bloody Baron.

9. The Death Eaters
• You KnowWho and his Death Eaters are ones to watch out for. If you’re
one of their enemies, then you are in trouble. Some Death Eaters
include: Bellatrix Lestrange, Lucius Malfoy, Fenir Greyback and, yes,
Severus Snape!

10. LordVoldemort
• Tom Marvolo Riddle, AKA: The Dark Lord, You Know Who, Heir of
Slytherin, He Who Must Not Be Named, and of course Lord Voldemort.
Probably the most dangerous Dark Wizard of all time. Once he decides
to kill you, there’s absolutely no turning back. He killed the following:
James and Lily Potter, Severus Snape, one of his own death eaters and
many more.

11. The Horcruxes
• There are 6 Horcruxes thatYou KnowWho Meant to create. 1 he didn’t.The 6
he Did mean to create are: Naigini the Snake, Rowena Ravenclaw’s Diadem,
Hegla Hufflepuff’sCup,Tom Marvolo Riddle’s Diary, Marvolo Gaunt’s Ring
and Salazar Slytherin’s Locket. However, Harry was the one that he Didn’t
mean to create.

12. The Ministry of Magic
• The Minister of Magic during most of Harry’s time at Hogwarts, was
none other than Mr. Cornelious Fudge.Though throughout the course of
the last 2 to 3 years it had changed twice. Fudge only resigned because
he refused to believe the Dark Lord had returned.

13. A Hearing
• A hearing in the wizarding world is more or less a trial but a magic
version of one. Harry had to attend a hearing during his fifth year for
performing a Patronus Charm in the presence of a muggle; his cousin,
Dudley Dursely.

14. Azkaban Prison
• Azkaban is a jail for all wizarding prisoners. Much like muggle jail, each
prisoner had their own separate cell. It is just jail but in the wizarding world.
They also have their own guards called dementors.

15. TheWeasleys
• Molly and ArthurWeasley had 8 children, but in the films, we only see 7.
They are: Bill, Percy, Fred, George, Ron and Ginny. It is Charlie we don’t see.
If you include Fleur, who later marries Bill, there are 11Weasleys in total.

16. Harry Potter
• Harry Potter is the main character, as we all know. His parents, again, as we
know, were killed by LordVoldemort. His birthday is July 31. His middle
name is James. So, if we know all this about him, then is there anything we
don’t know about him?
