Game description Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix walkthrough    PLOT -This story is from Harry’s point of view .In Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix , Harry starts out bored with life at 4 privet drive. Bored until a pair of dementors attack him and his cousin Dudley. Dudley can’t see the dementors, and is convinced that Harry is using magic to cause flashbacks to his worst memories. The irony in this is that Harry has been longing to use magic, but isn’t allowed to. The imagery in this scene is totally awesome. The Ministry of Magic sends Harry a letter, expelling him from Hogwarts. More letters arrive, from Mr. Weasley and Sirrius Black, warning Harry not to leave and telling him that Dumbledore is going to talk to the Minister of Magic (Cornelius Fudge) and get him a trial. His trial turns out to be in front of the whole Wizengamot. They clear him of all charges, after Dumbledore turns up on Harry’s side. Harry has been staying at his godfather, Sirrius Black’s, house, and when he gets back from the trial, everyone there is overjoyed. There are always a lot of people there, because its headquarters to the Order of the Pheonix. Harry and his friends, Ron and Hermione, go back to Hogwarts. Once they get there, they face the tyranny of Dolores Umbridge. Umbridge is the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher, but only because the ministry sent her. The ministry is afraid of Dumbledore spreading the truth about the villain of the story, Lord Voldemort. (He is!) Dolores Umbridge quickly reports to the Minister that things at Hogwarts are bad. Very bad. Umbridge is then appointed The first ever Hogwarts High Enquisitor. She sacks one teacher, pts another on probation, and makes several proclomations which inspire the DA. DA stands for Dumbledore’s Army. Dumbldore’s Army is an underground rebellion organization. All of its members are students who are sick of the tyranny that the Ministry is imposing. Unfortunately, umbridge discovers them. She brings in the minister of Magic, and he arrests Dumbledore. Umbridge is then appointed Head mistress. Things are getting worse. During the O.W.L.s, Harry falls asleep. He see’s his godfather Sirrius being tortured in the bowels of the Department of Mysteries. They rush to the Ministry on the backs of six thestrals (Harry, Ron, Hermione, Ginny, Neville, and Luna.) The Death Eaters turn up, and so does the Order of the Phoenix. They all battle over a prophecy made about Harry and Voldemort. It smashes. No one hears it. Dumbledore turns up, and defeats all the Death Eaters. Bellatrix Lestrange kills Sirrius. Dumbledore and Voldemort battle. Dumbledore wins. Aurors turn up and see that Dumbledore wasn’t lying about Voldemort being alive. I chose this game because it is really fun and I love Harry Potter. I expected the game to be more like the movie, but it was suprisingly like the book. I have played this game before, but usually, I’m just the brains of the operation.
Walkthrough PROLOUGE – The first thing that you see in the game is the whole story before Harry gets cleared by the Wizengamot. The dementors, the trial, everything. Its almost like someone took the movie and computer generated it. Well the important parts anyway.
Walkthrough 12 Grimauld Place – The next thing you’ll see is life at Grimauld Place. Sirrius, Lupin, Ron, and Hermione will teach you spells that you may want to record. You will need them later. You will also have several tasks to complete and people to talk to. This is how you learn spells.
Walkthrough Hogsmede Station – At the train station for the Hogwarts express, You meet Luna Lovegood. You also get acquainted with the Hogwarts thestrals. You get Luna’s explaination of them, but she is a bit looney. Believe her anyway.
Walkthrough In the courtyard - This scene takes place the day after you get to Hogwarts. Moaning Myrtle explains about the secret Bonus Room. And then you have to get started on the tasks. The tasks consist mainly of helping classmates, but certain portraits can give you tasks too. These tasks usually open up passageways to rooms or hallways.
Walkthrough The Marauder's Map – If you press the tab key, you will be able to access the Marauder’s Map. This will show where the tasks you still have to complete are, and who’s task it is. I would suggest that you do the tasks that are closer together one after the other. It will save you walking time.
Walkthrough Oclumency Lessons – One annoying thing you have to do is get oclumency lessons from Professor Severus Snape. These lessons will not cease until you have totally beaten Snape several times. To beat him, you need to force him away with your wand. You do this by holding it on the same side that he is on. Then you need to push away his wand.
Walkthrough Mini Games – There are several mini games you can play to get extra points for the bonus room. There is exploding snap and gobstones. You can also duel with anyone you bump into. To win a duel, you must zap all the stamina out of your opponent.
Walkthrough The Ministry – After you finish all but one task, you will be shown a clip of Harry’s dream. Then you will be shown you and your friends flying to the Ministry of Magic on the backs of six thestrals. You will then go through the battle with the Death Eaters. A clip of Dumbledore and Voldemort’s battle, and of Harry being possessed by Voldemort is shown. You then return to Hogwarts to complete the final task. You need to help Luna find her belongings.
Rubric Point of View – Awareness of Audience In this category, I gave the game a 4. I did this because I feel that the graphics were chosen specifally to fit the audience. They also didn’t make the game to violent, because it was rated E. The audio was also very good. They had the same music from the movie, and they made the voices almost perfect.
Rubric Voice Consistency I gave this category a 4, because the voices are consistent through the whole game. The music was good to. It was just like the music from the movie.
Rubric Images I rated this category with a 3, because in some parts, you can’t hear what someone says. Either that or they don’t sound the way they should.
Rubric Point of View – Purpose I gave the game a 3 in this category. I did this because for parts of the game, the focus is lacking. But it is there for 99% of the game.
Rubric` Soundtrack – Emotion This category scored a 4, because the music does inspire a rich emotion and a sense of purpose. It matches the story line quite nicely.
Rubric Economy I gave this category a 4, because the amount of detail is perfect. It is just the right length.
Rubric Dramatic Question This category got a 4, because the realization differs only noticeably from my expectation.
Rubric Engagement This category gets a 4, but only because I can’t go farther. I really liked this game and was very reluctant to stop playing.
Rubric Complexity This category got a 4, because there are like, a billion options and decisions to make. This is a very complex game.
Rubric Rules I gave this category a 4. I did this because they are easy to figure out. They gave me many non-obvious solutions.
Rubric Usability This category scored a 3, because the interface was a little clunky. I have to practice 3-5 times to get it right.
Learning Roles Code breaker - To solve difficult problems, you should write down what you learn in the beginning. It could be useful in a fight with Death Eaters or Voldmort. Participant- This game is not supposed to make sense compared with the real world. It is fiction! User- Some strategies you could use are write down spells for later use, and do challenges that are near each other one after another. It’ll save you time. Analyst- This text does nothing to me except make me like Harry Potter even more and Marvel at the likeness between the animation and the real actors. There are no issues of equality in this game, unless you’re a ghost who haunts a bathroom.
Group Contributions I am the only member of the group, so I tried to do everything well. We would not do anything differently because we’re all the same person.
Reflection The quality game was excellent, incredible even. This has been an excellent learning experience, I never knew so much to look for in a game. Working as a group member didn’t really happen. This was a solo endeavor. This kind of unit is sort of worth while. Maybe if there were more opportunities for one-on-ones.
