Throughout the last century there have been many highly influential psychologists across the globe. Through extensive experimentation and research,
these psychologists have revealed many surprising truths about human nature and the thought process behind our actions. Although these experiments
have given us a great deal of insight into the human mind, many of them have been surrounded by a lot of controversy. An American man named
Stanley Milgram conducted one of such experiments. Stanley Milgram was born in New York City on August 15th, 1933 to a family of Jewish
immigrants. He attended James Monroe High School, with another famous future psychologist, Philip Zimbardo. Reportedly, Milgram was a
determined kid and he managed to graduate ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Milgram was working as a professor at Yale University, when he began conducting a series of experiments that focused on the conflict between
personal conscience and obeying authority (Cherry, 2004). At the time, many people were accused of affiliating with Nazis during World War II. A
popular justification given by those on trial was that they were only following orders. The study began just one year after Adolf Eichmann's trial in
Jerusalem. Milgram's experiment was devised to answer the question, "Could it be that Eichmann and his million accomplices in the Holocaust were
just following orders? Could we call them all accomplices?" (McLeod, 2007). For the experiment, Milgram required a number of volunteer test
subjects and one very good actor. Forty average male participants, between age 20 and 50, were recruited from the New Haven area. Each was paid
$4.50 for just showing up. At the beginning of the experiment, they were each introduced to another participant, who was actually an actor hired by
Milgram. The volunteers were told that they were taking part in scientific research to improve memory. They drew straws to determine their roles–
leaner or teacher –however, unbeknown to the volunteers, this was fixed and the actor always ended up the learner. There was also the
"experimenter" dressed in a grey lab coat, played by another hired actor. The teacher and the learner were then separated by a screen,

3. Essay On Edm
The awareness of the drug use from DJs allowed them to better cater their music for their audience. When DJs had lyrics in their mixes, they would
frequently include themes of love and acceptance. Additionally, DJs will often include white noise, initially beginning at a low pitch and volume,
gradually increasing during the buildups of their songs before the drop. This supposedly garners a positive reaction from the audience who is
rolling and have a heightened sense of hearing. These traits can still be found in EDM today. Many of the common practices at raves stem from the
use of MDMA as well. For example, light shows are frequently performed by ravers. During a light show, one person will take small handheld lights or

Additionally, ravers started to die. At first, 87 died in a fire in an illegal Bronx club. Then, ravers started dying from "MDMA" powder which isn't
supposed be completely safe. It is not because of the deaths that caused the scene to die. The deaths occurred within confined areas so it failed to
elicit the "it could happen to me" mentality. Instead, it died because the first generation of ravers had retired from their careers. They no longer
wanted to go out to night clubs every weekend, ingest ecstasy and then deal with the comedown afterwards. Even with chemical enhancement, after
enough raves, all of them seemed like the same monotonous affair. They were tired after all the years of partying and preferred to stay home and
rest during the weekends. With that, the scene was voluntarily abandoned by members and died in the early 2000s. The rave scene as it is today
really only began in 2008. Recall the events that happened around 2008, the Bush presidency had undermined the credibility that the United States
spent centuries building upon in a mere eight years, and the economy was falling to pieces. It was a time where no one knew how to feel about
things. This was the perfect storm for MDMA usage and EDM to burst back onto the mainstream. Just like the pioneers of raving attended raves to
escape the realities of society, once again there was good reason to escape into a subculture of euphoria. With that, the present day EDM

Even with the deeper meaning the 1990's ruined any credibility for rave promoters. Once ecstasy related deaths were dramatized in the media, calling
an event being hosted a rave brought on negative stigma and automatically got organizations in trouble with officials. The word "festival" is now used
to itself distance todays big techno events from those of the past. Gary Richards, of LA Hard Events promotions stated the fact that the association he
sees with ecstasy and techno music is unwelcome in the business as it is with law enforcement and government officials. He further goes on to

This bill will hurt more lives then it would save. The same goes for other cities with similar aim at the matter. For example, U.S. prosecutors in
Florida tried to charge the owners of a club for violating the federal crack–house law when employees who had been caught dealing drugs at the club
testified against them. The deliberation ended with the jury acquitting the club's owners of promoting drug sales and use. The prosecution was
making a far unlikely link with music and glow sticks with the use of drugs, which cannot be made synonymous. The most successful case on the
other hand was when 16 suspects were linked to evidence of ecstasy's appearance in the city to the illegal raves being held in a warehouse. It was
found that rave promoters would purposely keep drug dealers out but only so they could sell their own product at their rave. This particular case is an
exact crack–house violation. The problem is that case does not correlate with festivals today;

you get from dancing. It's like nothing bad can touch you, any cares or worries that you have just disappear, you're a free spirit, your mind can take
you wherever you want it to go" Both the rave culture and my religious culture of Catholicism have many similarities for example, both cultures
follow the desire to have peace, love and respect for one another, in the rave culture their most popular acronym they all must follow is P.L.U.R
(peace, love, unity, respect) in Judy Soojin Park's Study she mentions "As Insomniac's events aim to propagate an ethos of PLUR–Peace, Love, Unity,

While in the Catholic faith we follow the same kind of rules but instead of being an acronym we have ten commandments and the golden rule which
reminds of something Ryan Cook states in "Rave, Culture, and Religion" "the equal validity of a therapeutic framing, making rave a means of
creating functional individuals and communities through achieving peak experiences." Another similarities both cultures have are schedules and
procedures; the rave culture has a set schedule of what DJ will be playing at what and in what place, the Catholic culture also has set mass times and
the same thing occurs at the time every Sunday. That being said both cultures have the signifiers and the signified, as I mentioned before in the rave
culture the signifier would be the DJ playing and sending out instruction to the crowd, meanwhile in the catholic culture the signifier would be the

in the age range of three to twenty one, and have a disability that effects their education in order to qualify for the IEP. The IEP allows the student to

With this population the occupational therapist used many techniques to help the children stay on task during the treatment sessions. While observing
I noticed that some of the children were distracted by objects in the room, other activities that were laid out for their session, or other children while
in the classroom setting. Some of the children became upset when they didn't know what was going to happen next, or when they didn't like doing a
certain activity. An example of this consisted of the child getting up from their seat to pick up an object for an activity planned for later in the session
followed by therapist redirection which upset the child when they had to go back to the task they were previously doing. This scenario was
demonstrated by multiple children, it slowed down the progression of therapy and decreased the therapy sessions overall productivity. This is a
problem because it took away from the treatment time and the child/children became less cooperative. To help prepare the child for the different
tasks a picture schedule was used. A picture schedule is a tool that uses pictures, symbols, or words to demonstrate a task or tasks that are going to
take place. The picture schedule works as a visual prompt with the purpose of helping the individual complete the task or tasks. More specifically the

Stress impacts the ability for children to learn and remember things due to the affect towards the brain, which can also impact them as adults. When
a child is stress, the neurons, according to Eric Jensen, "generates a weaker signal, handle less blood flow, and processes less oxygen." (9) The
exposure to stress shrinks neurons in the brain's frontal lobe. This is a crucial because if the frontal lobe is affected so is the prefrontal cortex, which
is responsible for making judgments, planning, regulating impulsivity. The area of the brain that is being impacted is crucial for learning. Children

By 1999, that number had risen to a staggering 88.7 million, according to the 1999 National Household Survey on Drug Abuse.

Illegal drugs, for example, weed, speed, acid, or ecstasy has always been a problem among the teen age group, but most of the time the problems

using this drug far more than past teens have. Teens today are not only using this drug to go out clubbing, but also at house parties in the suburbs. A
Federal Survey found that the use of MDMA, which is the abbreviated chemical name for Ecstasy, was up almost 50 percent among high school

come to EDM to enjoy the music together. I remember, in March 2017, I went to Ultra Miami music festival. I met many people who were from
Germany, Japan, Italia, Korea, China, and Brazil. All of them flew from their countries to Miami to attend Ultra Miami electronic dance music
festival. Ravers are from many countries around the world so there is no official language or jargon. However, EDM is the language of rave
subculture. "Ravers also exist in urban and virtual social spaces such as a warehouse, dance club, fields, basements, chat room, and new groups"
(Wilson 2006, 123). Thus, at the raves, there is no age, racial, sex, race discrimination between ravers. All of them come to any music festival to dance

Whether it is a young girl's favorite song on the radio, a college student's escape from reality or a form of entertainment to a married couple, music
brings everyone together. While some individuals may see music as nothing more than a song on the radio, it may be a major part of someone else's
life. Every month ravers unite as a community that spread positivity and love around one another at rave parties while they vibe and dance to
electronic music from sunset to the early morning. In the late fifties, "rave" was first used in Britain as a title for the wild bohemian parties that
occurred at the time. It was then briefly revived by the mods, a British youth subculture of the early to mid–1960s, and did not return into the trend
until the illegal warehouse party scene in London in the early eighties. "The crowd was mixed, black and white, and it is likely that the term 'rave'
came from Jamaican usage rather than a revival of any previous usage in Britain" (Evans). The main goal of these rave parties was to dance while
listening to 'good soulful music'. European clubs that sponsored raves in the 1980s tried to limit the exposure of attendees to the public and to law
enforcement (NDIC, 2006). Raves were secretive, after–hours, private dance parties and were often held in clubs, abandoned warehouses, and private

Rave Culture
What is a rave? Raving is a highly subjective experience. One person's best rave is another person's worst. Any attempt to analyze rave culture must
recognize the highly personal factor of the experience. Author Daniel Martin defines a rave as "a long period of constant energetic and stylistic
dancing exhibited by a large group of people in a hot, crowded facility providing continuous loud House music and an accompanying strobe lit
psychedelic light show" . Since the beginning of this culture there has been much controversy on the legality of what goes on in the scene. Through the
history, music, people, spirituality we are introduced to one of the newest things affecting pop culture today.

Normally at a rave, a DJ "spins" to create the music that the ravers hear. The act of spinning is the art of mixing songs together using
different pitches, different speeds, and an equalizer to create an ever–flowing, ever–changing wall of sound. In effect, artists record techno songs,
which are then reinterpreted and mixed with other techno songs, creating a spontaneous new song.
Dancing is, to an extent, yet another reiteration of the music. The music that the DJ creates spontaneously is a text. The dancer then in turn
re–interprets this text through movements of the body. The "reader" therefore, whether in the role of dancer, DJ, or user of sampling
technology contributes a mind set that is culturally specific and productive in itself. Rave dancing can be highly stylistic, or extremely vulgar. The beat
is the driving force. Whether one is doing highly choreographed dance moves or simply thrusting their body back and forth ceases to matter. It is losing
oneself to the beat, becoming one with the music by letting the music control your movements.
Ravers are a unique crowd. While rave culture espouses individualism, a come–as–you–are mentality, there are definitely many similarities among
ravers in general. A unique aspect of rave culture is the fashion. There is a definite sense of individualism within the rave fashion scene. You are

16. 90's Social Media Analysis
The early 1990's saw a revolution in culture – the rave scene was born. Within this obscure, lively environment a very niche sub–culture erupted; drum
and bass. This wasn't just a music genre, this was an ethos of "love, unity, peace and respect" (Hutson, 2000). The early 90's are quite distant from
present day however, and the huge efflux of technological enhancements has changed society as we know it . Specifically, how the mobile use of
Facebook has reciprocated this vivacious and high–spirited sub–culture.
Prior to modern day, "website postings, mobile phone messaging, and secret flyers" (Collin, 1997) were the main ways of communicating with any
attendees of a rave. Facebook provides a hub, in which these 3 mediums are incorporated alongside the many tools the social–network provides on it's
mobile base. Event pages are the pedestal of rave information, combining the 3 mediums previously stated on a page. Artists, labels and promoters can
communicate with individuals, not only using events, but on the news feed too, engaging with each other and the public. Mobile communication plays a
huge point here, as artists are often on the move. So being able to amass this on their mobile device, means that this social hub can be ... Show more

This was due to the sub–culture not only "deviating", but the raves' "aesthetic and lifestyle rejected by both scene enthusiasts and outsiders"
(Anderson, 2009). Facebook's mobile platform however disproves this, as mobile media creates an "intensification of individualism" (Castells et al,
2007). So the rise of people being more disclosing would mean the previous rejection; from inside the sub–culture and society itself, has been
eradicated. This is due to the need to create our own image of ourselves, which so happens to fall in place alongside other individuals – through the
distribution of information and experiences – in the form of drum and bass, without disruption of

In the mid to late 1980's, Dj's in Chicago began playing around with a Roland TB–303, a bass synthesizer, using the machine in ways it wasn't intended

acid house to the clubgoers. By the early 1990's, organizations began holding raves in the UK at warehouses or in fields, and new genres of house
called happy hardcore and jungle became popular. As genres grew, setting up shows became difficult. By 1992, raves in the UK started taking place
in licensed venues in order to avoid confrontation with law enforcement. Throughout the 1990's house music took off and new subgenres emerged in
the rave scene (Simms). Just as punk music took hold in New York from the UK in the 1980's, raves and house music followed suit in the 1990's. In

What is the rave subculture? This is a question that many people want to ask. A rave defines as "a dance party, usually all night long, featuring loud

This story is about a little old lady who was not afraid of anything. After spending the day gathering herbs, spices, nuts and seeds, the little old lady

According to Raver (2009), "Imitation is a major milestone that permits children to learn new skills efficiently" (p. 155). Raver further explains
that students become more involved and pay more attention to the lesson when they physically participate in the stories by performing the actions
of the character (Raver, 2009). Cindy was able to imitate three out of five actions and two out of two sounds I asked her to imitate. After reading

20. The Music And Its Influence On Society
To go against the "norm" at a rave is to go against the spirit of the music. The music itself inspires everything that rave culture is. EDM focuses on
the use of rhythm, an upbeat sound, and bass to enable the listener to "feel" the music and have their body move to the beat. Slowly the music builds
up and then it drops, leaving the crowd reacting wildly to the change in beat and pace. Many people view EDM as just being sound .The "club culture"
or "subculture" of rave culture may influence how people act in society and the values they carry, the people who do attend rave culture share
common traits. Professor Roman Horak from the University of Vienna comments on the similarities amongst raves. Many of these people dress
similarly, listen to the same music, visit similar places (shops, locations, etc.), and even buy the same products all because they take part in this
specific "club culture" (Horak, 262). A raver from India and a raver from the United States may be drastically different in how they grew up and the
media they consume, but they share common traits that are found with all ravers: the desire to be free and able to express who they are. At its core,
this music promotes freedom. Professor Horak views music as "an omnipresent aesthetic phenomenon and an instrument for social and cultural
exclusion and inclusion" (Horak, 265). Raves allows ravers to bridge the traditional social confines (sex, race, class, wealth) that are set established by
society by providing a

Drugs and music have been closely tied together throughout much of history, with each particular genre typically having a drug closely
associated with it. For jazz music, we have musicians such as Charlie Parker and Thelonious Monk of the 1940s who brought upon the
glorification of opium with their music. Fast forward to the 60s when the rise of psychedelic rock bands such as The Grateful Dead, The Doors,
The Beatles and Pink Floyd attempted to replicate the effects of LSD within their music. In the 80s, cocaine was linked to popular glam metal
bands such as Van Halen and Motley Crue. As the late 80s and early 90s came around, it was ecstasy's turn to take the spotlight. Techno, House,
Acid House, and rave culture were starting to burst into popularity within the underground music scenes of Detroit, Chicago, and in various places
within Europe. These DJs such as Nicky Halloway and Phil Hartnoll, like the musicians of the past, were well aware of the rampant ecstasy use at
their performances and their music was often influenced by said drug use. However, what they may not have been aware of was the sheer dependence
of ecstasy on the music and the music on ecstasy. Unlike times past where the music and the drug would have a seemingly superficial bond, ecstasy
and electronic dance music's bond extends far beyond any superficial barrier. Without ecstasy, there would be no electronic dance music, no raves, and
no PLUR (Peace. Love. Unity. Respect) culture. Likewise, without

22. Ravers Persuasive Essay
According to ravers, raves are an evolutionary type of party that everyone should experience. In a society that is constantly changing, raves have come
to be a part of evolution. It's been told that raves started out as a secretive late after–hour parties held in clubs, commercial buildings, and even private
homes for invited guests only. Its popularity did not uncover until the early 1990's. Drugs are a big part of raves, approximately 90% of the people
that attended raves are under the influence of some kind of drug. In the very beginning acid and marijuana were the most common drugs until the
appearance of ecstasy. Ravers simply call ecstasy by its short name "E" or "X." The market price ranges from $15 to as high as $25 per pill, which...

Unlike being under the influence of alcoholic beverages, ravers are able to maintain their sexual behavior because they are still intact with their
conscience. Paul McCartney, Pink Floyd, and the Grateful Dead all admitted to using LSD in the 60"s. LSD causes extreme changes in mood,
anywhere from a spaced–out "bliss" to intense terror, are also experienced. The worst part is that the LSD user is unable to tell which sensations are
created by the drug and which are part of reality. The sixties saw harder and more dangerous drugs like heroin began finding their popularity in the
music scene. In 1970 Jimi Hendrix died of from choking on his vomit after a night of partying and an excessive amount of sleeping pills; also that
year, Janis Joplin was found dead of a heroin overdose. Jim Morrison was found dead in a Paris apartment bathtub in 1971. Whereas the psychedelic

23. Paper On Counter Culture
A counter culture can be defined as a culture or a way of life where individuals oppose or reject the dominant norms, behavior, and values of society.
I view a counter culture as the "attention group". Individuals of this group are acting in ways which are considered different or abnormal to society,
therefore, they are drawing attention to themselves and I believe that this kind of attention is satisfying to them. I also believe that these kinds of
people are specifically looking for this attention from other individuals when they act in these peculiar ways. For me personally, I would never want to
be involved in counter culture because I would not be able to handle the constant attention and remarks from society and its people. The Ravers is a

Ethnocentrism was present during the time of Nazi Germany. This group of individuals formed a hatred for the Jewish people and had millions of
innocent people slaughtered in concentration camps because they did not hold the same beliefs as them. I find it intriguing to hear about how the
Jewish people were treated and how there were no valid reasons as to why this particular group of individuals were treated harshly. Counter cultures
tend to believe that their culture is superior over other cultures; hence how ethnocentrism is evident within these cultures and this belief helps society
identify counter cultures. Their way of life is socially correct and these cultures also strongly believe that every individual should try and live their life
more within that particular style. I used to have a friend who was a raver. She would always invite me to the raves and would always see how this

24. Raves And Drugs Essay
Generally people associate raves(Underground Techno parties) with designer drugs like Ecstasy(MDMA), Speed(amphetamine) and other acids like
LSD. These drugs are called the Techno Drugs for that reason and most of the time have uplifting and sensatory effects. To understand more clearly the
relationship between the raves and these drugs, we first have to understand the philosophy behind the Techno era, and a little about the music. "Techno,
can lift the spirit and become a new world of freedom and peace"(D'Vox Magazine The first electronic music Magazine). Most raves are
covered with propaganda about freedom, peace, spirituality and the like. It is no surprise why teens use these specific drugs at raves. "The

body, and mind in fully developing. There are many types of drugs, there are drugs that slow you down, drugs that speed you up, and hallucinogens.
Hallucinogenic drugs are substances that distort the perception of objective reality. The most well–known hallucinogens include phencyclidine,
otherwise know as PCP, lysergic acid diethylamide, commonly known as LSD or acid, and psilocybin, or "magic" mushrooms. Under the
influence of hallucinogens, the senses of direction, distance, and time become disoriented. You see sound and hear light. These drugs can produce
unpredictable, erratic, and violent behavior in users that sometimes leads to serious injuries or death. Drowning's, burns, falls, and automobile crashes
have also been reported. Some physical risks include mangled, and unclear speech, decreased awareness of touch and pain, convulsion, coma, heart, and
lung failure. Psychological risks associated with using hallucinogens is depression, anxiety, paranoia, confusion, loss of control, and flashbacks.

What is a Rave? It is a party which goes all night, dance music or techno music are played and are open to the public. Different types drugs and
chemicals are taken by people present but are not necessary. Instead, the majority of individuals think that Rave is an anti–social event which involves a
lot of drugs and due to this concept, the meaning of the Rave has been destroyed. Rave isn 't all about having drugs and dance all night. It is also a thing
which makes people bond with each other. In a rave you will find complete strangers hanging out with other strangers, sharing things, hugging and
uniting with other people. In a Rave, the number of attendance is not necessary. Usually, the range is between 500–20000. Rave tends to attract
different individuals, from rich to poor. Everyone's attending. Since rave is a sub–culture, there are no economic boundaries or requirements set. The
cost to attend a rave normally ranges between $10–$60, which because it depends on the place, DJ (people to mix music) and other cost factors. The
main music played in a Rave is techno, it is because Ravers' say that techno is a brain puzzle solver by which they mean it helps your brain fill out
the missing parts more like a fill in the blanks game. They refer techno music as a drug which helps you see different things. In a Rave, the DJ is the
primary character of the rave or can also be referred as the "Almighty" because they control the music. They are responsible for changing the state of

26. Social Competent Behavior Analysis
Social competence can be broken down into several components and exhibiting socially competent behavior often includes demonstrating appropriate
social skills in both new and routine situations, engaging in positive relationships with parents, teachers, and peers, and developing social cognition
skills (e.g., Hubbard & Coie, 1994; Raver & Zigler, 1997; Siekkinen et al., 2013; Vaughn Van Hecke et al., 2007). For each of these components, one's
self–regulatory abilities can either assist or undercut an individual's actions (i.e., thoughts and behaviors) (e.g., Halberstadt, Denham, & Dunsmore,
2001). Moreover, leading minds in the field of child development agree that these social activities provide opportunities to learn and strengthen

Moreover, although consensus has generally agreed on the structure of self–regulation (Ursache et al., 2012), recent research has highlighted an
intricate relation between executive functioning and another other aspect of emotion, emotionality (Ferrier et al., 2014). Emotionality, the combination
of the expression and experience of emotion, is observable everywhere in a preschool classroom. Recall that emotion regulation, cognitive regulation
(i.e., executive functioning), and behavioral regulation are all considered essential aspects of self–regulation (Jahromi & Stifter, 2008; Ursache, et al.,
2012). Moreover, remember that behavioral regulation has been defined as the "execution and manifestation of cognitive processes in overt behavior"
(Morrison et al., 2010, p. 204). In the same light, just as behavioral regulation is the expression of corresponding cognitive processes (i.e., cognitive
regulation/ executive functioning), we propose that emotionality be conceptualized as the corresponding expression of emotional processes (i.e.,
emotion regulation). It is worth mentioning that the emotionality we refer to is conceptually distinct from the term emotionality used in temperament
research to describe an innate emotional disposition (e.g., Blair et al.,

Families and intervention: Case studies
As the Workgroup on Principles and Practices in Natural Environments (2008b) supported, "a flexible, family–centered, individualized, and
evidence–based early intervention process" is essential for the support of parents and caregivers to enhance their children's development (Raver &
Childress, 2015, p.10). In this paper, taking into consideration these principles, I will analyze two case studies; Alice, a 19 month old girl with a
diagnosis of Down Syndrome and Shawn, a 30 month old boy who has difficulties in communication, sleep and feeding routines as well as social
interactions. As the primary provider of these children and their families, I will collaborate with caregivers and parents to identify and design
intervention strategies to enhance the child's development. This is in accordance with the transdisciplinary model of intervention, in which the primary
provider works directly with the family and the child; while other professionals support him/her by suggesting intervention strategies and sharing
information for their field of expertise (Raver & Childress, 2015). This impacts greatly both the family, as they interact with fewer people, something
that makes them feel less overwhelmed, and the primary provider as he/she feels competent to apply intervention strategies that have been taught from
other professionals (King, Strachan, Tucker, Duwyn, Desserud, & Shillington, 2009).

30. Positive And Negative Effects Of Working Mothers
Today's women are being scrutinized if they decide to enter the work force and have children. There seems to be a stigma that you cannot be a career
woman and have a family. Women find themselves entering the work force before they have children and then choosing to stay after the children are
born. Some women find that their families require two incomes or in some cases their income may be the sole source. There are also positive
outcomes of working mothers. Some studies show that while the lack of a mother's presence can impact a child negatively, a mother that does not work
may have a severe impact on a family. With a dual income household, many mothers are able to make more choices for their families when it comes to

The Parental impact is the most important for a child's academic achievement. Understanding what the child needs from a career mom can change the
negative impact to a positive one. Simply asking how your child's school day was and showing a genuine interest in what he is learning at school can
have a tremendous impact (Raver,2003). Maternal mental health of a working mother can also be a negative impact on children . Women in low
income communities are more at risk for postpartum depression or any other form of pregnancy related mental illness during or after pregnancy
according to research ( Barnett, 2004). Today there are also positive outcomes of a working mother with a family. Usually the lack of a mother's
presence can impact a child negatively, but does not compare to what may occur if the mother does not work. Several factors that may occur such as
poverty, parental education, and quality childcare. In some situations without the income of the mother, the family finds themselves living at the level
of poverty . When a dual income household is established, many women find themselves able to make more and better choices for their families when
it comes to education and nutrition. The improvements of living standards for working mothers replace any negative views (Raver, 2003).
Parental education also plays a huge role in the positive impact of a child's success. Research

the floor beats, analogue basslines, high pitched leads, usually accompanied by a piano or string riff. The electro house tempo ranges from 120–130
bpm. The word electro comes from the 1980's electro movement by which it was influenced. After the 1980's synth pop sound came the
electroclash movement of the early 2000's. This is where electro house was born, particularly from the Detroit techno scene. The electro house
genre has become steadily more popular on the Billboard Top 100. The mainstream electro house songs usually feature a remix of a slower
original song like Kid Cudi, "Pursuit of Happiness" later remixed by Steve Aoki to become an electro house anthem. Other notable electro house
DJ's are Benny Benassi, Daft Punk, Crookers, David Guetta, Deadmau5, Justice, Klaas, MSTRKRFT, Spencer & Hill, and The Bloody Beatroots.

derived from the Greek god of wine Dionysus, perceives values through "the annihilation of the ordinary bounds and limits of existence" (517). The
Dionysian culture holds values that approve recklessness, glorification, states of emotional excess, and a general passion to break through the usual

"They valued all violent experience, all means by which human beings may break through the usual sensory routine, and to all such experiences they
attributed the highest value" (518). Dionysian cultures did many horrifying things to themselves. Cutting strips of skin off of their arms, cutting
fingers off and going without food and water for days were some of the things that the people of the Dionysian cultures did. Today, violence is a
major part of one society's existence. Gangs today rely very highly on violence for survival. Not only do they hurt the people outside of their gang, but
they also hurt those inside of it. In order to be "initiated" into the gang, one would have to suffer through the torturous beatings of his fellow gang
members. "...if he was seeking his vision by torture...someone had to go out with him to tie him to the pole from which he was to swing... his helper
did his part and left him alone for his ordeal." This resembles the rituals of the gangs. The gang members recruit the new members in, and lead him
before the rest of the gang, and then leave him alone for his ordeal. Drugs and alcohol are a huge part in the lifestyles of the Dionysians. The
experiences that they wanted were "...often sought openly by means of drugs and alcohol." (521) Many times, the Dionysian cultures used

and mysterious rituals. Based on two years of ethnography in the rave scene combined with published documentation, a survival guide for attending
raves is offered for the naive, but curious. To survive in the rave subculture, possessing both the artifacts (nonverbal communication) and lexicon
(verbal communication) are imperative. Artifacts include appropriate clothing, essential supplies, and psychedelic toys. Examples of interesting and

Although there is no definitive source on the etymology of the term "rave," most ravers agree that the term originally referred to "raving" about the

The Common Core places a lot of emphasis on standardized testing instead of attempting to reach children in different ways. Not all people learn the
same way and a lot of children who happen to be visual or auditory learners are missing the mark on these tests. As these scores remain so essential,
several teachers "over prepare children for the tests through months of drill and practice" even taking away time from recess to prepare (Berliner 254).
Sadly, as a result, numerous teachers treat their students as test scores, and show little interest in their personal lives. This happens to be even more
alarming when you realize that countless children in poverty worry about more than what they happen to be learning in school. Another way ... Show

Sadly, numerous children who don't meet the mark with Common Core standardized tests, receive placement in special classes. They then become
passed on through school without acquiring any assistance in preparing them for college. They leave high school without any aspirations of furthering
their education, as in these classes, there is added encouragement to enter the workforce straight out of high school. Another reason these children don't
pursue college is a lack of money as "lower–income families often struggle to cover costs of education" (Mather and Jarosz 13).
Lack of money, health insurance, and other poverty related issues have also led to lower academic performance among children in poverty. In David
Berliner's Letter to The President, he explains how "medical problems are harming student learning in our schools" (252). Since poor children may
not have health insurance, or their families may not have the funds to see a doctor, poorer children miss more school due to illness. Also, more
children in poverty come from single parent homes, which leaves numerous children on their own after school. In fact, "three fourths of all single
mothers are in the labor force" which means there happens to be usually nobody at home to assist poor children with their homework, or help them

The data for this study on school mobility and math achievement came from the Chicago School Readiness Program (1728). Random kids were put
into Head Start programs that had teacher trainings and mental health advisers (1728). Chicago was a smart choice to study since that city has
increased poverty compared to other big cities. Throughout the study, there were various sources that were used to collect different aspects of the
effects of school mobility. A main source was the standardized achievements tests that were given before entrance into the Head Start program and
once they finished. Cognitive dysregulation was also accounted for by the teachers using a written questionnaire (1729). To gauge the math
achievement that the children in the program had been working toward, a test known as the ISAT, was given around their fifth year when a majority
of the participates were in fourth grade (1729). This specific test allowed the researches to gain access to the progress or failure in math that the
