Hannah completed a successful summer internship at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company. She developed and launched their North America Communications Portal, creating much of the content with minimal guidance. Hannah also supported the Akron Marathon project and assisted executives with video interviews, demonstrating poise and professionalism beyond what is expected of an intern. Her supervisor believes Hannah is well equipped for a career in communications based on her education, work ethic, personal skills, and professional experiences during the internship.

Hannah,it wasan absolute pleasure toworkwithyouthissummer. Summerinternshipsare often
challengingdue totheirrelativelyshortduration. Yetyouwere successfulinusingyourtime at
Goodyearto buildrelationships,understandyourprojectneedsanddeliverresults,all withinthe
summer. Your abilitytoachieve thiswasinlarge partdue to your maturity,poise,professionalismand
capabilities.
Your workon the development,creationandroll outof the North AmericaCommunicationsPortal was
particularlyimpressive. Startingwithafew conceptsandminimal directionfromme,yousuccessfully
partneredwiththe CommunicationteamandI,to create not onlythe intranetportal,butalsoa
significantamountit’scontent includingprocesses,guides,toolsandtemplates. Evenwhenyouhad
onlyminimal knowledge of the subjectmatter,youwere able thinkcritically aboutwhatwasneeded
and to simplifyandformatthe contentinan effectiveway. Developmentof the navigationscheme for
the portal,as well asthe detailedsupportdocumentsforitsuse, are greatexamplesof yourabilityto
independentlysolve communicationchallenges. Creationof the NA CommunicationsPortal isan
example of workthatwouldhave neverbeencompletedthissummerwithoutyoursupportand
leadership.
Additionally,yourworkon the AkronMarathon was a great wayfor youto engage withCorporate
Communicationsandcommunityleaders. Thiswasanimportantprojectand youwere a valuable
memberof the team. You were a great supportto Justin inworkingwiththe media andwere able to
navigate andunderstandsome of the political situationsyouencountered. Thisisvaluable learningand
perspective asyoutake the nextstepintoa professional role.
Finally,due toyourpoise andprofessionalism, youwereconsistentlyaskedtosupportexecutivesand
otherleadersinthe studioforvideotapingsessions,videointerviewsandtownhall support. Itisnot
customaryto have internsindependentlyconductleadershipinterviewsforvideotobe seenbythe
entire company. Yet,whenthe needarose,Ihadno hesitationinaskingyoutotake the lead. In fact
one of the people beinginterviewedoncameraproactivelyofferedthe followingfeedback: “Hannah
was veryhelpful inproviding arelaxed,yetfocusedandenergeticatmosphere duringthe interviews.
She evenmade it appearthat the subject wasinterestingasshe listenedandrespondednon-verbally –
and that’sa trick!” Making leadersfeelconfidentwhencommunicatingisan importantconsultingskill
for a communicator,andyouhave it!
Hannah,as you complete yourfinal yearof school,know thatyouare well equippedtobecome a
