The Han Dynasty ruled China for over 400 years and was divided into two periods. Lui Bang defeated Xiang Yu in 202 BC in their final battle, declaring himself the first emperor and founding the Han Dynasty. The Han Dynasty influenced China so greatly that Chinese people today still refer to themselves as "people of the Han".
