2. 1. Enumerate and discuss the helping process in social work with groups.
Working with groups in social work is like going through different steps that work
together to make things better. First, there's the Assessment step, where we look at each
person in the group and the group as a whole which is known for individual focus
assessment and Group focus assessment. It's like taking a picture of what everyone needs
and what's good or challenging for the group
After that, we move to the Planning step. Here, we make plans, but it's important to
include everyone in the group when deciding what to do. It's like making sure the goals
and strategies match what the group wants. Thus, the worker I mean the group worker
must always and always consider the interest and needs of the clients or the group
members. Then comes the Intervention Plan, where we put the plan into action. In this
step, we always think about what each person in the group needs and wants. The plan can
change as the group's needs change. Next is the Evaluation step. Here, we check if the
plan is working well. We see if it's helping the group and if changes are needed. It's also
when we think about ending the group if the goals are met or if it's time to finish.
Lastly, there's the Termination step, which is like the end of the journey. The group might
end if it achieved what it set out to do or when the agreed time is up. But deciding to end
is not just the worker's decision; everyone in the group talks about it together. It's a joint
decision, making sure everyone is okay with finishing. This whole process is like a team
effort, moving through different steps to help the group in the best way possible.
2. Discuss the Uses of Groups.
Groups in social work serve three main purposes such as affecting individuals, solving
problems together, and changing things outside the group. Firstly, groups impact
individuals by helping them change how they see themselves, their motivations, and
attitudes. They also influence values, beliefs, and behavior. Being part of a group
provides a strong sense of belonging, support, and a chance to learn.
Secondly, groups are useful for solving problems together. Whether it's working on
shared tasks or dealing with emotional and social issues, groups allow people to think and
work together. This not only helps individual members but also contributes to solving
bigger problems in society.

3. Moreover, groups can bring about changes beyond their boundaries. By putting pressure,
sharing information, and organizing effectively, groups can modify the systems they're a
part of. This extends to influencing the broader social situation, including communities
and society as a whole. Groups become a force for change, not only within their own
circle but also by impacting attitudes and perspectives beyond their immediate members.
To make it simple, groups in social work are more than just gatherings. They play a vital
role in personal growth, working together to solve problems, and making a positive
impact on the wider world.
3. Discuss the phases in group development?
In the field of social work, groups go through different steps that form a kind of roadmap.
It starts with the "Pre-Group Phase," where the idea of forming a group takes shape. First,
it's just a thought in someone's mind (Private Pre-Group Phase), then it becomes public
when announcements are made (Public Pre-Group Phase). The "Convening Phase" is the
first meeting, where people check things out and feel a mix of emotions.
As the process moves forward, the "Group Formation Phase" is when the group officially
begins. Goals and rules get established, and people start connecting. Communication
becomes a key part of how the group works together.
In the middle of the process, the "Group Integration, Disintegration, or Reintegration
Phase" becomes crucial. This is when the group's identity solidifies, and members work
together on specific goals.
Later on, the "Group Functioning and Maintenance Phase" is like the group becoming
more mature. Members focus on activities that keep the group healthy and working well.
The whole process wraps up with the "Termination Phase," which is the formal end of the
group. After that, during the "Post Termination Phase," there's a time to look back and
think about what happened, reflecting on the group's impact. In social work, these steps
aren't just technical stages—they represent the heart of how people, when they work
together, can make a positive difference.

4. 4. Give at least 5 Theoretical Models or approaches discuss its relevant to Group.
In the world of social work, different approaches guide how we help groups of people.
First up is the Developmental Approach. This approach says that a group working
together towards a common goal is the best way for people to grow socially. It looks at
individuals not just as sick or healthy but on a scale from doing well to needing
improvement. These approach also have a three major themes such as the humanitarian,
Phenomenological and developmental.
Next, we have the Remedial Model. This model sees small social groups as powerful
influencers on behavior. The worker actively shapes the group's development and
processes to bring about changes for the people involved. It's like using the group as a
treatment tool, both directly by interacting with members and indirectly by changing
group conditions. And also we have Interactionist Approach says that people and their
environment work together, and social work helps them connect for mutual self-
fulfillment. The worker has two main jobs: helping each person deal with immediate
problems and helping the group include the person and provide services in the
community. Lastly is the Crisis Intervention Approach. This method is used when
individuals, families, or communities are in a tough spot because of a crisis so basically
this approaches not only use in Group Work but it also useful in working with
communities I mean in other methods in our profession. In this approach the worker
actively influences how they cope during this tough time, and there are specific elements
like a stressful event and how people respond that we focus on. It's a time-limited process
and needs to happen quickly, ideally within 24-72 hours when someone asks for help.
5. How Important is Group Work to the Social Work Profession?
Group work has become pivotal in our profession, which is social work. It's super
important because it helps people facing similar challenges feel connected and supported.
Being part of a group gives a sense of community and makes a big difference in how
people deal with tough situations. Group work is actually one of the three methods in

5. social work, making it a crucial way we help our clients, especially when working with a
smaller number of them.
In groups, folks can learn from each other's experiences and strategies. It's like going to a
teamwork school where everyone shares what works and helps each other grow. This
kind of learning makes individuals stronger and better equipped to handle life's ups and
downs.
Moreover, group work gives us a louder voice when it comes to dealing with bigger
issues. When people come together in groups, they can stand up against unfair systems
and push for positive changes in society. It's like being part of a team that fights for
what's right, making social work more effective and impactful.
Importantly, group work is one of the reasons why our profession is unique. We have our
own ways of helping others, and group work stands out as a special method we use. It
adds to the uniqueness of how we approach helping people, making our profession
distinct from others. So, in a nutshell, group work in social work is all about building a
supportive community, boosting skills, and creating a stronger force for positive change.
It's a unique and crucial part of why social work makes a difference in people's lives.
