Help 4 Human Research & Development is a nonprofit organization that aims to promote human development, human rights, and sustainability. Its mission is to contribute to holistic human development efforts and serve all humanity by eradicating poverty, promoting equality and justice, and empowering vulnerable groups. It envisions a just, sustainable, and pollution-free world where everyone has access to basic needs and equal opportunities.

Concept: Help 4 Human Research & Development
Almost as long as life has existed on Planet Earth, Human beings have been puzzled with the
question who we are and why we exist. It’s often been argued that the ultimate objective of
life is not about acquiring and accumulating commodities or financial wealth but something
else… As the great Greek philosopher Aristotle once said, “Wealth is evidently not the good we
are seeking, for it is merely useful for the sake of something else.”
The process of development, in any society, should be viewed in terms of the benefits and
opportunities that it generates for the average human being and how fairly and evenly the
fruits of development are ultimately distributed — between men and women, the well off and
deprived, across different socio-economic or demographic strata and regions.
Experience shows that, often, there is no direct correlation between economic wealth of a
society and the quality of life. It becomes necessary, therefore, to have a framework of
development strategies to create and reinforce the link between the two, and encourage the
most effective use of available resources for well-being of the people.
In this context the end objective of human development is human rights. The goal is human
freedom where the people are free to exercise their choices and participate in the decision-
making that affects their lives. Human development and human rights mutually reinforce the
well-being and dignity of people, building self-respect and respect for all others.
According to world renowned economist and Founder of the Human Development Report
Mahbub ul Haq:

2. “The basic purpose of development is to enlarge people's choices. In principle, these
choices can be infinite and can change over time. People often value achievements that
do not show up at all, or not immediately, in income or growth figures: greater access to
knowledge, better nutrition and health services, more secure livelihoods, security
against crime and physical violence, satisfying leisure hours, political and cultural
freedoms and sense of participation in community activities. The objective of
development is to create an enabling environment for people to enjoy long, healthy and
creative lives."
It can thus be argued that Human development is about putting people at the centre of
development. It is about people realizing their potential, increasing their choices and enjoying
the freedom to lead lives. And the purpose of development is to enlarge all human choices, not
just income, including through creating an economic and political environment where people
can expand their human capabilities.
The human development radar thus sweeps over a wide spectrum of issues of the human
development paradigm, including provision of minimum needs, social safety, economic growth,
social empowerment, as well as political and cultural freedom. Thus in order to be really
meaningful… any development program has to be:
• People centric—with the interest of people as its core concerns
• Focus on improving management of public resources with a view to empowering the
poor and resource-weak segments of society.
• Should enlarge all human choices, whether economic, social, cultural, or political
• Should focus on expanding choices in three essential areas: opportunity to lead a long
and healthy life; opportunity to acquire knowledge; and opportunity to have access to
resources needed for a decent standard of living.
• Regard increased incomes as a means to improve human welfare, not as an end in itself
• Based on four pillars of: equity, sustainability, production and empowerment

H4HRD is an international non-profitable, non-governmental humanitarian organization (NGO)
with no religious or political affiliations. It is independent of any government, political ideology,
or religious creed. As a non-sectarian, non-ethnic and non-discriminatory organization, H4HRD,
envisions a future where each and every individual or group is able and free to participate in all
spheres of society, based on universally accepted principles and standards of human rights,
values and democratic freedoms for all in a holistic development process. Finally, we stand for
securing human rights for all, as well as conserving and restoring our precious Mother Earth.
Our priorities include continuous and sustained efforts to

• Eliminate poverty, unemployment and illiteracy
• Abolish Hunger, malnutrition, diseases, economic and social displacement
• Provide proper guidance and quality medicare to those in need.

OUR CREDO:
We stand for three big ideas:
• LIVE SUSTAINABLY- There will always be a tomorrow- Indeed as someone suggested;
our future is a choice, not a destiny. The unscrupulous manner, in which human beings
have plundered the Earth’s resources faster than they could regenerate, has resulted in
many forms of life on the planet getting extinct. All this needs to change. We need to
use the planet like there is a tomorrow. Humans need to change both for the survival of
the planet earth as an ecosystem, and for every species in it, including humans, so that
succeeding generations can exist in a future, worth living. This transition to realize a future
of sustainable prosperity represents both a great challenge and opportunity. This means living
within the limits of the natural world. Sustainability is humans turning junk into resources
faster than humans turn resources into junk.
• SOCIAL JUSTICE & EMPOWERMENT FOR ALL: Everyone – particularly the Scheduled
Castes, Minorities, Backward Classes/communities, Disabled, Aged Persons, Street children and
victims of Drug Abuse should get a equal opportunities and fair share to participate in the
development process and lead a good life. The objective should be to bring different socially
deprived segments into the mainstream of development by assisting them to overcome their
social, physical, educational and emotional handicaps.
• PEOPLE FRIENDLY ECONOMIC/ DEVELOPMENT MODELS: Developmental /Economic
models should work for people and the environment and not bye-pass their real needs.
We tackle the causes of issues of concern and not just treat the symptoms.

4. VISION:
We envision a healthy planet with-- good life with dignity for everyone on it. We dream of a
peaceful, just and sustainable world. We seek a pollution-free, crime-free and disease-free
world full of knowledge, hope, tolerance and compassion where justice is delivered at the
doorstep of the consumer and no one is deprived of basic human needs like food, shelter or
clothing. In fact, everyone has equal opportunities of earning their daily bread and access to
clean water and sanitation.
Our Vision is to energize the lives and spread happiness in the homes of the faceless and
underprivileged masses of India. We see our role as a caring, friendly and non-partisan helping
hand for sharing an opportunity to people to educate themselves, stay healthy, earn a decent,
dignified living, raise healthy families, and participate in democratic life. Above all our endeavor
always is to achieve social, economic and environmental justice.
We are guided by the belief that it is better to light one small candle than to curse the
darkness… This is the aspect of our motivation and encouragement that no matter how tough a
task may seem to be one should keep going…. eventually it is these small little steps and the
positive attitude that leads to success… This is in keeping with the phrase, nothing gained
unless ventured—in other words, it’s next to impossible to reach the final destination unless we
take the first initial step. All this is based on the eternal truth that God helps those who help
themselves.

desire to enrich and energize the lives of millions of people-- make a positive impact in the lives –
wherever they are across the globe and create a healthier world.
Our mission is to contribute to holistic human development efforts and to serve the whole
humanity. As dutiful sons and daughters of Mother Earth we are committed to protecting the
environmental rights of all people, including future generations. Among these rights are access to clean
air and water, healthy and nourishing food, and flourishing ecosystems.
We stand for eradicating poverty, unemployment and illiteracy, promoting equality, justice and
campaign for human rights through development programs and projects to improve health, social,
economic and infrastructural condition of the poverty-stricken and weaker section of society.
H4HRD’s aim is to capacitate and empower women and children particularly girls and to support their
full participation in the political, social, and economic development to fulfill their aspirations for better
living opportunities and basic amenities.
We know that we can't change the world ourselves; therefore we partner/collaborate with likeminded
global allies to achieve the common objective. In this manner we make things happen- by adding links in
the network. Each alliance acts as a force multiplier and builds the consensus for a happier planet.

5. 10Point Agenda for Action:
We use multiple platforms and mediums to reach our goals on an international scale.
1. Increase awareness and sensitivity of human rights amongst various stake-holders.
2. Lay the foundations of a socially just society with equal opportunities for all and address
all forms of social, economic or sectoral discrimination
3. Build a society without prejudice, promote equality and human rights
4. Influence policy decisions at all levels
5. Work with governments, non-government agencies and communities to promote more
balanced and people-centered development
6. Undertake and sponsor research studies and awareness programs to collate and
disseminate data and statistics on human development issues
7. Encourage, support collaborative research and disseminate research findings on a
variety of emerging issues such as gender based violence, child abuse and road safety
8. Act as a collaborative think tank focused on legal and human rights issues-- Provide quality
legal services to the vulnerable groups specially women, Dalits, tribals and prisoners.
9. Provide training to strengthen community-based approaches
10. Provide platforms constantly where different stake-holders can come together on
various human rights issues affecting the vulnerable namely, women, Dalits and tribals
