WHAT IS THE
CONJUNCTIONS ?
conjunctions is a word that connects
words, phrases, and clauses in a
sentence. Some examples conjunctions
are: and, but, or, not, although, yet, so,
either, and also. example sentence :
“I like reading and writing, but I don’t
like studying.”

Coordinating Conjunction
Coordinating conjunctions are equivalent conjunctions, which are
used to combine words, phrases and clauses with each other.
Example
Combine two words
She opened the door and the window.
combine two phrases
Do they prefer playing baseball or playing soccer?
FANBOYS (For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet, So).
He studied all night but he failed the test.

Subordinating Conjunction
Subordinating conjunctions are connecting words used to
create complex sentences in English.
Example
You may leave the class after the bell rings.
They will lose if they don’t practice.
We go to the beach before we eat at the
restaurant.
Although he got the dream job, he was still
unhappy.
Because he got sick, he didn’t go to school
today.
Until I was 20 years old, I still lived with my
parents.
Correlative conjunction
Correlative conjunctions are paired connecting words. Their
function is to connect words, phrases, and clauses that have a
reciprocal or complementary relationship.
Example
He will sell either his car or his house.
Adam neither likes apples nor oranges.
You will have to take vaccines whether you like it or not.
Both Man of Steel and Batman V Superman are my least
favorite DC movies.
She is interested not only in maths but also in chemistry.
We are as lazy as them.
Lisa played violin with such passion that all of the audience
were moved to tears.
She would rather sweep the floor than mop it.
