The Episcopal Social Services organization provides several services to those in need in the Wichita community, including a food pantry and soup kitchen that operate on a walk-in basis with no requirements. They also offer a Breakthrough Club for social and vocational support for those with mental illnesses, youth programs such as ART and TIP, an employment program with job resources and training, and a payee program to manage finances for those unable to do so themselves.

The food pantry at Epospical Social Services is small, but they have lots of
different things. It is much more full during the holidays. If only people would
donate all year round. They provide supplies for food, hygeine, and even some
very important baby products. There are no requirements! You just have to
walk in and ask!

he
The cafe gives off a great impression. It is clean and homie. You can sit with
others and socialize with new and old community members, going through the
same thing. Everybody can come to eat, and not be judged. There are also no
requirements! I think that I will be eating there soon too!

6. Breakthrough Club
The Breakthrough Club is a social and vocational program to reintergrate persons with mental illnesses
back into the community. In the clubhouse the staff and clients are equal to each other to run the
clubhouse. Members are able to work together in the operations in the clubhouse. Such as working in
the kitchen to feed the hungry. They are able to improve the members quality of life with several
programs to involve them in. Members are offered career development, education,and social club
events. Also members are provided with health and wellness program . The young adults program helps
adults from 18-30 transition into adulthood providing education,help for employment, and living
effeciently on their own with the community. Members with any bipolar or depression may also attend
the Depression & Bipolar Support Alliance (DBSA).
Education is provided by a helpful staff and a learning lab onsite for completing any highschool or
college courses.Career development helps members find work and provide job coaches as needed.
Members are provided equipment onsite for the upkeep of their health and wellness. Your health is a
major factor in mental illness. The mind and body are tightly connected.

10. Youth
The Youth Program offers different programs targeting the
youth and their families. ART, which stands for aggression replacement training, is offered to
youth and there is also a program called Family ART. ART serves youth ages 12-17 years of
age who are experiencing chronically aggressive behaviors and/or are currently involved with
the justice system.
The Family ART program provides youth and their families the chance to learn
the skills necessary to change aggressive behavior and maintain a non-aggressive lifestyle.
The Teen Intervention Program (TIP) is a juvenile delinquency prevention program serving
offenders and at-risk youth 12-17 years of age.
This program is offered in Sedgwick and Butler Counties and meets at different times and
places. Please refer to the website for this information. ESS also offers a youth community
garden that is currently looking for supplies and volunteers. Please contact ESS at their

12. Employement Program
The Employment Program offered by the ESS, though simply titled, provides a variety
of services to low-income, unemployed individuals. Located in the ESS building are
computers those in the program can use for job searching and applying, an area filled
with professional and business-casual clothing that those in the program can wear to
interviews and the like, and a board with many listings for local businesses currently
hiring. Those in the program are also able to take classes such as Life skills, Restaurant
Industry Basics, and culinary/kitchen experience classes to gain experience and make
finding and keeping a job easier. For those who have above-average difficulty finding or
keeping a job, there is a Case Management component to the Employment Program in
which a case manager works one-on-one with a member to provide support and
assistance in keeping or obtaining work.

rogram
One of the services provided by Episcopal Social Services is a Representative Payee Program.
The Payee Program provides services to people who are currently receiving Social Security or
VA benefits and are unable to manage their own finances for a variety of reasons. The program
works with people who have a wide variety of challenges, such as mental illness, drug and
alcohol addiction, developmental and physical disabilities such as visual or hearing
impairments. There is 2 full time and 1 part time staff in the program that provide the structure
to keep the program running efficiently including providing money management, limited case
management and volunteer management. There are 34 volunteers assisting over 300 individuals
with financial guidance, free tax services, social support, food sacks and community resource
referrals. The program ensures that basic needs such as shelter, utilities, and food are met first.
By managing the financial affairs of the clients, the clients can focus on recovery and
stabilizing their lives.
