3D printing is an additive manufacturing process that creates three-dimensional solid objects from a digital file. The presentation focuses on the future applications of 3D printing and includes a survey of students. Key findings are that 3D printing is currently seen as expensive with uses in small products and medicine, while future applications may include automotive, aviation, construction, and printing organs using bio-inkjet techniques. Reducing costs and developing new materials are seen as ways to increase adoption of 3D printing technologies.
In the modern era, the one technology that is transmuting every facet of the industry is 3D printing. It is an additive manufacturing technology. Here three dimensional solid objects are created by laying layers of materials to give it a 3D effect.
Join us for an all-encompassing look at industrial 3D printing – where the technology is today, how it got there, and where it’s heading. Early adopters are using 3D printing to improve product design, streamline manufacturing processes, and lean out their supply chains. Cutting-edge software is being used alongside 3D printing to design previously “impossible,” parts optimized beyond conventional manufacturing capabilities.
3D Printing that evolves in detail regarding methods, process, market forecast, Industry and organisations in it and lastly, the future expectation for 3D printing
3D printing or additive manufacturing is a process of making three dimensional solid objects from a digital file. The creation of a 3D printed object is achieved using additive processes. In an additive process an object is created by laying down successive layers of material until the entire object is created. Each of these layers can be seen as a thinly sliced horizontal cross-section of the eventual object.

This slideshow was compiled according to specs provided by my eCommerce professor. We were tasked with picking an area of technology that was of interest. I have always been fascinated by 3D Printing and I feel that it is a technology that will be greatly expanded in the next 10 years.
3D Printing is basically a process for making a physical object from a three dimensional computer aided design CAD file via a layering approach. It encompasses many forms of technologies and materials as 3D printing is being used in almost all industries. 3D printers are a new generation of machines that can make pretty much anything from ceramic cups to plastic toys. They have become affordable enough to hit the mainstream. 3D printer can be purchased online or in stores, which gives people the ability to print items from anywhere in the world. Technology is always updating and evolving, and 3D printing is no expectation. This paper provides an overview of 3D printing and its applications. Matthew N. O. Sadiku | Uwakwe C. 16. Data collected and analysis
To rise the application of 3D
printing→ Reducing the cost
It seems that people feel 3D
printing expensive.
Reducing cost→
â—Ź Lower price
â—Ź Creating incentive for industry
as well as public to use more
â—Ź Broadening the market(gaining
more recognition through mass
media)
17. Data collected and analysis
Predicted demand (future
applications)→
Industry requiring precise and
personal products
More new applications
â—Ź Based on the knowledge now
further enhance
â—Ź Larger market
Least possible to be in future→
Industry producing identical,
massive and involve of safeness
Lower use in future
â—Ź No reason to change the current
production process
18. Conclusion
• For the future applications→
Specific and user-based market > Luxury and daily use
• New applications from previous technology & Brand new use in future
• Valued as high-technology (expensive)
• Change the value
• Lower price
• Less likely to know other application→ Even having new technology low
applying rate
• More usage of 3D printing + technology enhancement
• Diversify the development in 3D printing(creating different
products)
• Investigating possible use
