Energy efficiency built-in 80% efficient power supplies Low-power chipset and energy efficient processors HP BIOS efficiency settings Meets or exceeds global environmental standards EPEAT, Energy Star Submitted for certification to the following Asia Pacific eco-labels: Taiwan Green Mark, Korea Eco-label, Japan PC Green Label, CECP energy from China Eco-friendly design: easy to disassemble and recycle Services and support for recycle-ability Trade-in Program Dismantling and remarket/refurbishing Responsible use of materials RoHS Compliant Proactive elimination of brominated flame retardants in exterior case parts Why buy – Environmental features Designed with the environment in mind Save energy Lower costs Protect the environment
80%+ Efficient Power Supplies What is it? Power supply that uses a higher % of power taken from “the wall” Older power supplies waste power from “the wall” Current power supplies generally are 65% to 70% efficient Why is it relevant? Energy Star 4.0 requires 80%+ Power Supplies HP was the first Tier 1 OEM to ship 80%+ in Nov. 2006 80% efficient power supplies benefit customers financially while helping the environment by reducing waste: Increased power supply reliability due to greater efficiency Decreased system maintenance due to increased reliability Lower TCO due to reduced maintenance and longer equipment life Improved worker environment with less noise from the PC Potential reduction in cooling bill due to less heat being generated by PCs.

Editor's Notes

  • #2 80% efficient power supply standard – the average dt ps is 65% efficient, wasting power. The more efficient the power supply, more efficient it is in using power, potentially reducing energy bills. Estar 4.0 compliance; other global compliance (RoHS, etc) Estar compliant processors and chipset standard – helps with lower power consumption. Also puts out less heat … cooler running machines means lower cooling cost Engineered to run in higher temperatures, up to 40 degrees c ambient (most PCs run at 35c) need to mention “ low power ” for the processor since not all Core 2 Duo are low powered. FYI: we are only using 8W screened parts from Intel] Oversized processor and chipset heatsinks Refer to the HP Business PC Environmental Messaging Map available on the WW PSG PIT
