 Slightly different in respect to vocabulary, syntax, accent,
spellings of some words and other features.
 Less than 8% Pakistani Population speak English.
 STANDARD ENGLISH:
 Any form of English Language that is accepted at National
Level.
 Often associated with RP
 UKSE (Grammar and Vocabulary)
 SSE
 American Standard
 Problems in helping verbs:
Ali is fighting since 2014
Ali has been fighting since 2014.
 Wrong Usage of Preposition:
(Preposition shows a relation between a word
and element by preceding a noun or pronoun)
See you on next Monday.
Aslam married with his cousin.
 Modesty of Putting the other party before self.
I and my friend launched an attack on the screen.
My friend and I launched an attacked on the screen.
 Usage of Should/ had better:
She should better take eat healthy diet.
 Unnecessary Addition:
 The writer has expressed his these ideas very
clearly.
 Bombastic Words:
He was pregnant with ideas.
 Double Comparative:
This book is more better than that one.
This book is better than this.
 Activity:
She is more prettier than the next one.
 Usage of Double Negatives:
I don’t have neither her address nor her mobile
number.
She is not unattractive.
 Activity:
Any other example?
Various Tense in a single statement:
“Nadia has tried to kill her friend by drawing a line, inside
she was dying by herself.
Direct and Indirect:
(the change of tense depends on the main helping verb
plus some additional changes in syntax and time
expressions is present)
It is raining hard.
She says that it is raining hard.
She said that it was raining hard.
 Interrogative question:
What you were doing?
What you are doing?
 Pronoun Error:
Everybody must bring their own lunch
Everybody must bring his or her lunch.
 Apostrophe Usage:
My mother cabins is next to his’s cabin.
My mother’s cabin is next to his cabin.
 Conditionals:
(Result of something that might happen in
present or future but in past)
If Anam would work hard, she would get better
opportunities.
•USE OF ARTICLE:
With (singular) countable nouns.
A book but not two books.
Before Adjectives:
She drives an old car.
Consonant Sound:
An apple, A horse.
Specific thing:
I caught a yellow bird in cage.
RULE # II
•When mention something for the first time in
sentence and then change to THE when the thing
is determined:
•He was talking to a friend on phone and the man was
laughing behind her.
•Asma gave me a present. The present was very
expensive.
•Use with Indeterminate Nouns (Obvious Nouns):
•Could you shut the window, please?
•EXCEPTIONAL CASES:
Don’t use articles with meals.
We had lunch at noon.
General Way of Talking:
I have completed three semesters in University.
Usage OF Articles also depends on Countries:
My mother is in Hospital (UK)
My mother is in the Hospital. (US)
Such Countries like Burma (Myanmar), Liberia
(Africa) don’t use Article.
 Pakistani Media.

 Influence of Americans.
 Urdu contains neither capital letters nor
punctuation marks except question mark.

Direct and Indirect: (the change of tense depends on the main helping verb plus some additional changes in syntax and time expressions is present) It is raining hard. Usage OF Articles also depends on Countries: My mother is in Hospital (UK) My mother is in the Hospital. (US) Such Countries like Burma (Myanmar), Liberia (Africa) don’t use Article.
