DIFFICULTY RATING
(FIRST SEMESTER)

BACKGROUND OFTHE STUDY
On May 15, 2013, President Benigno S. Aquino
III signed the “Enhanced Basic Education Act of
2013”.This was known to the public as the “K-12
Law.” Since then, during the school year 2016-
2017, then Grade 11 started and on the following
school year (2017-2018), the Grade 12 started also
making the first batches of the said curriculum.
But the public still does not know what does this new
curriculum contains especially the Grade 10 students who are
graduating this school year and the following batches to come.
For example, the difference of the subjects known by the junior
high students to the senior high subjects in the Arts and Design
Track. And what they need to prepare for.
Although the researchers admits the similarities of both of
the curriculums, they also knew the difference of both of the
curriculums.
Hence, the researchers decided to create this study.
THE STUDY
The target population of this study are the bonafide
Grade 11 students who are acquiring the First semester
subjects of Arts and DesignTrack at the MandaueCity
School for theArts.
VARIABLES OFTHE STUDY
The researchers want to know:
•The difficulty rating of the subjects obtained by this
learners.
•The subjects of the Arts and DesignTrack.
PURPOSE OFTHE STUDY
This study is created by the following purposes:
•The ranking of the of these subjects by its difficulty.
•The results, conclusions, recommendations to be
created.
SCOPE AND LIMITATION
This study only focuses of the following:
•The difficulty rating of the first semester subjects to the
Grade 11 students of the school year 2019-2020.
• Arts and DesignTrack subjects only.
•The subjects offered by the MandaueCity School for the
Arts in theArts and DesignTrack which are the
following:
THE SUBJECTS
• General Mathematics
• Earth and Life Science
• Creative Industries 1
• Oral Communication in Context
• 21st Century Literature from the Philippines and theWorld
• Pagbasa at Pagsusuri nag Iba’t ibangTeksto sa Pananaliksik
• English for Academic and Purposes
• Physical and Personal Development in the Arts
• Physical Education and Health
• Introduction to the Human Philosophy of the Human Person
METHODOLOGY
The study was conducted during break times of the Grade 11
students dated from October 9, 2019 to October 18, 2019.
There are 16 students who responded to the study.They were
given a survey form.
The survey contains the name and the date. Followed by the
subjects listed in the left part of the form and a rating scale from
10 to 1.
The instruction given is to put a check mark of your rating of
difficulty in each subject. #1 is the hardest and #10 is the easiest.
Which means the higher the score, the easier the project.

RESULTS
• The score is been total and been ranked. From Rank 1 as the easiest and Rank
10 as hardest. The perfect score is 160 points.

CONCLUSIONSAND
RECOMMENDATIONS
• We therefore conclude that the subject Physical Education and Health is the
easiest and the General Mathematics is the most difficult subject.
• We recommend that this study maybe one of the reference of understanding of
the difficulty of the subjects of first semester subjects in the Arts and DesignTrack
• We also recommend the subject teachers who got low points of this study to do
more effort in letting the understand the topics of their respective subject.
• We also recommend the future researchers to further improve this study.

CONCLUSIONSAND RECOMMENDATIONS • We therefore conclude that the subject Physical Education and Health is the easiest and the General Mathematics is the most difficult subject. • We recommend that this study maybe one of the reference of understanding of the difficulty of the subjects of first semester subjects in the Arts and DesignTrack • We also recommend the subject teachers who got low points of this study to do more effort in letting the understand the topics of their respective subject. • We also recommend the future researchers to further improve this study.
