Goran Bregović is a Yugoslavian and Bosnian musician and composer born in 1950 in Sarajevo. He was the leader of the popular Yugoslavian band Bijelo Dugme in the late 1970s and 1980s, selling over 15 million albums. He is known for introducing shepherd's rock music to Yugoslavian popular music. Bregović has also composed scores for over 30 films, most notably for director Emir Kusturica. He now lives in Paris and leads a 40-piece band performing a dynamic mix of Balkan, European, and rock influences.
