To The Balkans & Beyond - The Series Synopsis On May 2011, 4 Latin-American friends - along with a professional and young film crew - start an adventure on a journey of discovery through the complex human and physic geography of the Balkans. Their transport: a car. The pilots: themselves. The travel plan: travel through 13 Southeastern European countries, in 3 months. Their aim: demystify the image of the countries they are going to visit, revealing the many faces that are rarely shown: luxuriant nature, ancient history, rich traditions and cultures. Teeming capitals e quiet villages. Folklore and pop culture. Contrasts and diversity. The final destiny of this expedition is going to be Guča Festival: one of the biggest music festivals in the world, exclusively dedicated to trumpet folk music. Along the way, the 4 travelers and their crew will come across and interview locals as well as personalities, witness different kinds of events, experience music, culture and tradition of each of these 13 countries and it’s ethnicities. This expedition will be transformed on a TV documentary series, with potential to be broadcasted all around the world.
5. To The Balkans & Beyond - The Series Authorsandtravelers The 4 authors and travelers of the project “To the Balkans & Beyond” are enthusiastic researchers of Balkan and Eastern European culture. They are: Andrei Moyssiadis: 22 years old, originally from São Paulo (Brazil) but of greek and portuguese heritage. He’s graduated in audio-visuals and he’s also a balkan beats DJ. ChicaBatella: 26 years old, originally from Rio, although raised in Itaparica, Bahia. She’s graduated in Fine Arts, studied cinema and is currently studying dance and taking part on a Balkan folk dance group. Maria Almeida: 25 years old, born in Brasilia to a portuguese father and brazilian mother but raised in Rio. She’s a balkan beats DJ, a party producer, costume designer and also takes part on a Balkan folk dance group. Sol Provvidente: 33 years old, originally argentinean but raised in Rio de Janeiro. She’s a balkan beats DJ, a party producer, classic ballet dancer and also graduated in Psychomotricity.

To The Balkans & Beyond-The Series gOals Demystify the Balkans and Southeastern Europe, showing through folklore, music and traditions of each of the 13 visited countries the rich cultural and ethnic diversity that exists in this region of the world, still very little positively explored by the media. In big capitals as well as in the most remote villages, the 4 travelers will experience an immersion in the local way of life, registering everything under a special point of view, always as distant as possible of a mere touristic standpoint.
