ORDER
1. As per rule 19, Appendix VII, Part-I, Kerala Service Rules, employees
who undergo chemotherapy or radiation for treatment of cancer are eligible for Special
Casual Leave for a period not exceeding 45 days in a calender year, subject to the
conditions specified therein.
2. It has been brought to the notice of the Government that 45 days of Special
Casual Leave sanctioned to cancer patients to undergo chemotherapy or radiation is
hardly sufficient to meet their treatment requirements.
3. Government after having examined the matter in detail are pleased to enhance
the amount of Special Casual Leave up to a period of Six months subject to the
conditions stipulated under rule 19, Appendix VII, Part-I, Kerala Service Rules, with
effect from the date of this order.
4. NecesSary amendments to KSRs will be issued separately.
