3. What is Jamboard?
The Jamboard is an electronic whiteboard it allows users
to draw or erase, retrieve images from Google searches,
store work automatically in the cloud, scan handwriting,
and recognize shapes. Users can both share and learn in
real time during Google sessions. All students have access
to classroom, seminar, and online learning opportunities.

File Name
The file name is visible to all users
of the same Jamboard file; it can
be modified by the owner of the
file as well as anyone added as
editor.

Enables the users to view and
modify sharing preferences as well
as the file sharing link, general

access to the board.

Frame Bar
The frame bar is used to navigate
between frames. It also allows you
to reorder frames, view which
frames collaborators are currently
working on or viewing, as well as
duplicate and delete frames.

Zoom in/Zoom out
This button lets the user zoom in
and out of the frame/board for
viewing options.

Set Background
Clicking the button lets the user
change background to another
type of board (i.e., chalkboard,
blueboard), pattern and even
images that are saved on the
device or uploaded images.

Clear Frame
Let users remove all images, texts,
drawings, and sticky notes in one
specific frame.

The current screen of the
whiteboard, equivalent to a page.
Each jam can have up to 20 frames.

marker, highlighter, and brush.

Select Tool
Using the Select tool enables the
user to drag objects to a new
location or pinch to resize, no
drawing strokes are created when
using the Select tool.

Sticky Note
Add a digital sticky note on your
board with some text in it, which
you can then move around. The
color and text inside of the sticky
notes are modifiable.

Let users add or upload an image
directly into the board for
everyone to see.

Add Shape
This tool is used to add shapes as
objects to our boards.

Text Box
Allows the users to add text boxes
into the jam and easily type in the
texts they want to add. Text boxes
can be moved or dragged all over
the frame. Texts inside the boxes
can be modified; it’s color,
alignment, and type.

Laser Pointer
Use this to draw attention to
something on the board. It acts like
a pen whose ink "evaporates"
quickly. Other users who are
looking at the board can see the
highlights, including in video
meetings.

The handwriting tool converts
handwritings made by stylus or
finger into printed text.

Enables the user to add a file to

take photo using their device’s
camera to add an image to your
jam.

Image library enables access to the
device local drive and saved
images to be added into the jam.

Auto Draw
Allows the user to write text with
their finger or a stylus. The
application converts the
handwritten notes to text.

Search Image
Use the Search pictures tool to find
online images without copyright
restrictions.

Insert Sticker or Stencil
Allows users select a sticker or
stencil from the gallery and insert
it into the jam. Stickers affixed to
the frame exist as resizable and
movable objects.

Create a jamboard with all the members
of your group and apply what you have
learned today by brainstorming with your
groupmates about the advantages of using
Google Jamboard as an educator. Discuss
its benefits, uses and advantages for
educators. Attach the link of your group
jamboard and a copy of it in PDF on the
submission post in our google classroom
before our next meeting on Wednesday
this week January 18, 2023.
