This document compares the features of Google Classroom and Edmodo.com. Google Classroom allows teachers to easily assign work, post announcements, and share links, videos and images. It also allows for collaboration between students and teachers. Edmodo.com has social media-like features and allows for collaboration and sharing of content. While both platforms allow sharing and assignments, Edmodo.com is recommended for younger grades because it has an interface similar to Facebook that may be motivating for students, and allows teachers more control over student posts and comments.

■ Edmodo.com seems to work better for younger grades.

■ The teacher has all control in Edmodo.com.
■ With sharing capabilities, teacher can have “Library” of
documents, videos, links and images.
■ Edmodo.com is simple and easy to use.
■ Edmodo.com allows for differentiation of instruction.
■ As an elementary teacher, I would use Edmodo.com over Google
Classroom.
