3. BONDING BETWEEN METAL AND PORCELAIN.
CHEMICAL BONDING
Small amounts of certain base metals (Iron, Tin, indium,
Gallium) are incorporated.
To form oxides.
These oxides contribute to metal-ceramic adherence and
chemical bonding.
4. MECHANICAL BONDING
Sandblasting the metal coping with 50-100 µm Al2O3.
To reduce the thick layer of casting oxides.
The opaque porcelain will flow into the microgrooves
created by the sandblasting on the surface of the alloy.
5. SUBGINGIVAL FINISH LINE
Based on J. Kois and F. Spear there are two rules:
a. If probing depth is 1.5 mm or less, extend .5 to .7
mm below tissue.
b. If the probing depth is greater than 1.5 mm, go
half the depth of the sulcus below tissue
10. CHECKING OCCLUSION USING 2 STEP
METHOD.
STEP 1:
Using 100 or 200 microns thick blue articulating paper.
Transferring the pigments and a thin coat of Transculase bonding agent
to the occlusal surface.

Take a thin film, preferably red
Offers high intensity and an excellent contrast to blue.
