GLORY INFANT AND PRIMARY SCHOOL
PROFILE
BACKGROUND:
Glory Infant and primary school was opened in 2005 by Pastor Joshua Mugole in
Buwenge Town Council, Kadiba zone, Kasalina ward along Kyerinda Road Jinja
District.
It first operated in a four rented apartment which we later bought and we have
extended to more building including wooden structures. The school is designated
handicap accessible for the community members.
Glory infant and primary school was started to help families who cannot afford to
take their children to the existing schools.
Glory infant and primary school has a goal of creating an additional opportunities
for the pupils to develop their skills while reinforcing the objectives of the unified
core curriculum to promote good citizenship, cooperation, responsibility and a
positive attitude.
Our Mandate: as Glory infant and primary school is to educate and empower
all pupils to become independent, creative, problem solvers, who will demonstrate
exemplary character in a global society.
OUR CORE COMMITMENTS OR BELIEFS:
As Glory infants and primary school we believe in
1. In the success of all pupils or learners.
2. In trust and respect for others.
3. In development of life long learners.
4. In providing motivating challenges that will inspire excellence in our
learners.
5. In rigorous education that is accessible for all pupils.
6. In a safe and stable learning environment.
7. In building the community and support learning that will advance the
children in society.
8. In teaching our learners with the necessary information and for diversity.
THE SCHOOL BUILDING:
Glory infant and primary school is comprised of the following.
a. Classroom blocks (from Infant to primary seven)
b. The office of the director.
c. A staff room
d. A kitchen area room
e. A storage room
THE SCHOOL GROUNDS:
Glory Infant grounds contain a minimal piece of land with a small play ground
which is used during break time and lunch time hours.
A small grassy area.
THE SCHOOL AND ITS PUPILS ENROLMENT:
Glory Infant and primary school serves 300 pupils.
186 are boys 114 are girls.
CATEGORIES OF PUPILS AT THE SCHOOL:
1. Orphaned pupils
2. Poor needy pupils
3. Average pupils
4. Stable pupils (those who can pay school fees)
Subjects taught at glory infant and primary school
a. Mathematics
b. English
c. Religious education
d. Social studies (science, geography)
e. writing
f. Reading lowers classes
g. Physical education
Staff at glory infant and primary school:
Since the school is building along history of tradition and excellence. it has
employed skilled, experience and committed staff to meet the aspirations of the
pupils to change the community.
e.g. 16 classroom teachers, 11 are teaching staff, 5 are none teaching staff.
Glory infant and primary school governance:
Has a very active governing body consisting of
a. Board of Directors working as the supreme governing body.
b. A parents committee of seven people including members.
c. The school administration which is comprised of head teacher, deputy
head teacher, bursar, director of studies, senior woman teacher, disciplinary
teacher etc.
d. Pupils leadership comprised of head boy, head girl, welfare prefect, class
monitors extra.
THE MAIN GOALS OF THE GOVERNMENT BODY ARE AS FOLLOWS:-
1. Promote a Christ centered environment of Glory infant and primary
school since it was founded by a pastor.
2. Enhance the effectiveness of the Glory infant and primary school
governance.
3. Promote effective communication among the stake holder groups.
4. Provide opportunities for families to be active participants in the education
of their children.
5. Provide input on issues that may affect the function of Glory infant and
primary school.
6. Promote the Glory infant and primary school in the motion health lifestyle
program.

 Toprovide quality education affordable to a wide cross section of parents
/guardians.
 Toencourage and produce pupils with leadership skills.
 To instill a sense of self discipline, respect for people, property and
authority.
 Toprepare children for life in society where laws and certain formalities
have to be observed.
 Topromote healthy/hygiene through subject content, knowledge hence
sensitization and awareness.
 Toproduce morally upright, God fearing and law abiding citizens.
 To instill a sense of self discipline responsibility harmonious co – existence
and unity in diversity.
CO – CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
Glory infant and primary school since its formation.
It has actively participated in sports activities like football, netball, athletics,
music, dance and drama of which the school has performed excellently.
GLORY INFANTS AND PRIMARY SCHOOL ACHIEVEMENTS
 A temporary class room structure has been constructed on the school small
piece of land.
 The school has existed for the last ten years i.e. We have climbed
mountains and gone through valleys till now.
 Late have been able to utilize the major resources available to enhance
development pay teachers salaries etc.
 We have been able to promote a bible study club at school.
 Our academic performance has impressed the parents and guardians which
is fitting in the standards of the ministry of education.
GLORY INFANTS AND PRIMARY SCHOOL - CHALLENGES
 Our parents and guardian are not prompt enough to pay school fees in
time.
 We are landlocked in a small piece of land along Kyerinda road.
 Raising satisfying payments to our teachers salaries is one of the problems
we are facing.
 Serving a hot meal is one of our priority but due .
 Lack of enough funds we are not appropriate.
 There need of bibles to supply to our school pupils.
FUTURE PLANS/FORWARD:
 Toaccess possible assistance inform of donations , grants .
 Tobuy more land to increase on our infrastructure.
 Toincrease on our food storage in order to feed our pupils.
 Toconstruct more buildings which include classroom blocks, administration
block, school dometries.
 Tohave a well furnished school library equipped with text books and bibles.

goals setting competencies and instills the vision to serve the best interests of the
community.
