Save Next Generation Mission (SANEGEN) is a non-profit organization founded in Liberia in 2006 to provide education and support to orphans and vulnerable children (OVC). SANEGEN operates a community-based out-of-school program called Community Education Initiative that provides early childhood and primary education to over 100 children ages 3-12. SANEGEN's goals are to eliminate child labor, increase access to education, and improve health, wellness, and self-sustainability for OVC through a philosophy of empowerment through education.

It currently has 70 volunteers working with children in 7 schools, conducting 2 hour classes weekly to improve their English, computer, life, and social skills. The organization aims to address the stark realities that many children in government schools face, such as dropping out by 10th standard and lacking support and resources to pursue further education and opportunities.

While similar projects exist, this one works within existing remand homes to incorporate social enterprises, curriculum and long-term mentoring into the education system. There is potential to expand the innovative project to more regions and globally with additional funding, staff, and partnerships.

Back ground Save Next Generation Mission is Non- denominational non-profit grass-root organization founded by Timothy, Jube and Alphanso, three selfless individuals after spending ten years in exile as Refugee retuned home in 2006 and saw the deplorable condition of children in Liberia especially OVC’S and decided to work with children in targeted communities with focus on taking education to the community and expanding formal education for Orphans and vulnerable children, with particular concern for marginalizes girls and increase access for early childhood learning opportunity for all children. SANEGEN, Grounded in self-help philosophy uses local resources and follows local priorities to provide personal attention and direct benefit to children and youth so they live with dignity, achieve their desire potential and participate fully in society. Over the years more than 1500 children and youth have been served through our initiative. Timothy explains the acronym SANEGEN” Healthy Minds Generation working together for the wise application of knowledge and resources to have a balance development. In 2013, SANEGEN started her community base out of school program caption Community education initiative (Bridge school) in Zinc Camp, chicken Soup Factory with 25 OVC’S registered for early childhood and primary education ages 3-12. Currently we have 115 at the center. We hope to eliminate child labour and children prematurely leaving school in communities we serve. SANE-GEN is driven by a team of volunteers who are committed to helping poor communities in Liberia. As the organization is totally voluntary. Sanitation is one of our major focuses to keep them healthy and well. Our goal is based on the five (5) core values.
