GLOBAL NEEDS. GHANA (NGO)
ORGANISATIONAL PROFILE
BACKGROUND: GLOBAL NEEDS, GHANA is a non-governmental, non-profit, social
development voluntary organization established in June 2000. Itwas registered with the
Registrar Generals Department in May 2002, located at Kpando District in the Volta Region with
a branch in Accra.
GLOBAL NEEDS, is a registered member of Ghana HIV/AIDS Network (GHANET) Coalition of
NGOs in Health (Volta Region Branch). Itis in partnership with Ghana AIDS Commission and
Ghana Center for the Development of People (CEDEP). Italso collaborated effectively with the
Kpando district Assembly in all health and Development issues.
GLOBAL NEEDS believes that it is people who make things happen; therefore national
development and nation’s progress depend upon the physicaland mental health of people,
working towards achieving specific goals and objectives which undoubtedly guarantee total
development of people and nations. Itis healthy people who make or unmakenations.
GLOBAL NEEDS, was formed as a development and health advocacy NGO aimed at educating
and creating awareness of people about human rights and assisting of victims of natural
disaster, advocates of equal rights for all and small scale industrialtraining service related
issues particularly in Ghana.
The organization believes that its firstresponsibility is serviceto the general public. Its strong
dedication to this causewill enable it to reach the target groups. In carrying its day-to-day
programmes, itstrikes to provide excellent services in:
a. Developing programs to eradicate or minimize the spread of health related diseasesuch
as TB, MALARIA, HIV/AIDS, STD and other health reproduction and protection issues.
b. Designing advocacy strategies in human rights issues, rightof women and children,
domestic violence, Interstatesuccession law and People with Disability Law.
c. Human resourceDevelopment to emphasize and empower the people with alternative
income generating activities to reduce pertinent poverty and ruralto urban migration by
the youth to a single digit percentage.
d. Facilitating educative inter personal interaction, information and knowledgesharing with
other stakeholders for sustainability of our goals.
e. Formcoalitions and partner with other NGOs for the implementation of health
awareness and protection programs.
f. Build network and linkages between GLOBAL NEEDS and health Clubs in Schools and
communities at local, district, regional and national levels.
The organization has extensive working experience in areas such as health and sanitation,
sexual and reproduction health, environmental protection, Human Right and poverty
reduction activities.
The organization become associated with sexual health related diseaseand malaria
prevention campaign in 2002, arising fromthemotivation to contribute its effortto curb the
spread of specific epidemics in the targeted communities. The organization formally
launched TB, MALARIA and HIV/AIDS/STDs and other reproductivehealth infection
awareness campaign in 2003.
Through its long-term commitment to this mission, GLOBAL NEEDS is establishing itself as an
organization that shares its concern with health deprived and marginalized under privileged
communities in Ghana.
The organization’s proficientteam of permanent administration and technical staff are
supported by a pool of experience professionals and practitioners with varying backgrounds
in management, medicine psychology, sociology and adulteducation.

NAME: The legal name of the organization is GLOBAL NEEDS, GHANA (NGO).
ESTABLISHED: As a non-governmental, nonprofit, socialvoluntary organization In June2000.
MISSION STATEMENT:- Lobby to enhance the rights and assistthe needy, under privileged
and the marginalized in society through research, advocacy, collaboration, networking and
partnership with both governmental, NGOs, developmentalpartners and other stakeholders
to maximize sustainabledevelopment of the people of Ghana.
