Gladiator is  slovak rock band which was founded in 1989 by brothers Miko, Maroš and Dušan Hladký and their friend Giorgo Babulic. They all come from village Alekšince which is close to town Nitra.
At the beginning they used to sing in English and the genre was trash metal. Their  music video for the  song  „Profitable losses“ on their first album (Designation) was the first Slovak song ever played on MTV.
Later they decided to change styles to rock and in 1997 they sang their first song in Slovak language called „Slovakian“. Since then they´ve been singing in Slovak.
