A report published by the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions in June 2013 which looks at how the use of natural gas can be paired with renewable energy sources in the coming years to further reduce so-called greenhouse gas emissions--carbon and methane--which theoretically will help reduce (don't laugh), "climate change." Of course the climate changes all the time, but don't tell the politicians and Mother Earth worshipers that.

Presented at 'UK Energy System in Transition: Technology, Infrastructure and Investment'; an event organised by the UK Energy Research Centre, ClimateXChange and the Edinburgh Centre for Carbon Innovation, on Tuesday 1 April 2014, 14.00-17.00, in Edinburgh, United Kingdom.
Presentation by Dr. Chris Skinner, Director Product Platforms, Owens Corning, at CAMX on October 16, 2014.
Future market options for alternative energy – wind, geothermal, solar, ocean/tidal, flywheel technology, battery technology, and biofuels – are a growing area of interest for composites and advanced materials businesses. Knowing how to determine which source provides the most promise for composites applications, navigating the regulatory issues, and determining what design, materials, and manufacturing issues should be kept top of mind are discussed during this session.
Highlights of Thomas Friedman's arguments in "Hot, Flat, and Crowded." Lecture prepared by Dr. LaRae Donnellan and shared with her students at Florida A&M University
This preliminary design study was originally written by Matthew Kronborg circa 2007.
The aim was to explore the technical and economic feasibility of using hydrogen, produced via renewable energy, to power air cargo transportation and to develop an optimal pathway towards commercialisation of such a system.
Executive summary for Last Chance Saloon for CSP (Concentrated Solar Power)Simon Thompson
This is the executive summary for "Last Chance Saloon for Gen 3 CSP" which is a report and forecast from Rethink Energy.
It’s about the global Concentrated Solar Power (CSP) business which, although small compared to photovoltaic or wind power, will be a $10 billion global industry by 2030. How so?
Previous CSP marquee projects such as the “tower power” plants of the Mojave Desert have proved to be expensive and R&D-hungry. Although impressive, they’ve tarnished the sector and in recent years investment has gone elsewhere.
It means that CSP has effectively lain moribund for a decade.
But in recent years a new wave of technology-driven CSP companies have brought a swathe of minor innovations, improvements on efficiency and cheaper equipment to the market.
CSP can now provide temperatures of 1,000 degrees Celsius, enabling the technology to play a role in the decarbonization of the cement, steelmaking, and mining industries. And in China there are plans to use CSP on the power grid as “peak-shaving” energy storage.
Does this mean that this 3rd generation of CSP activity will lead to profitable returns? What are the new technologies and who are the players? And what will be the impact of the global demand for hydrogen on CSP?
The answer to these questions and more can be found in Last Chance Saloon for Gen 3 CSP in this 30-page report, illustrated with graphs and accompanied by an Excel spreadsheet with projections.

PHP Frameworks: I want to break free (IPC Berlin 2024)Ralf Eggert
In this presentation, we examine the challenges and limitations of relying too heavily on PHP frameworks in web development. We discuss the history of PHP and its frameworks to understand how this dependence has evolved. The focus will be on providing concrete tips and strategies to reduce reliance on these frameworks, based on real-world examples and practical considerations. The goal is to equip developers with the skills and knowledge to create more flexible and future-proof web applications. We'll explore the importance of maintaining autonomy in a rapidly changing tech landscape and how to make informed decisions in PHP development.
This talk is aimed at encouraging a more independent approach to using PHP frameworks, moving towards a more flexible and future-proof approach to PHP development.
Connector Corner: Automate dynamic content and events by pushing a buttonDianaGray10
Here is something new! In our next Connector Corner webinar, we will demonstrate how you can use a single workflow to:
Create a campaign using Mailchimp with merge tags/fields
Send an interactive Slack channel message (using buttons)
Have the message received by managers and peers along with a test email for review
But there’s more:
In a second workflow supporting the same use case, you’ll see:
Your campaign sent to target colleagues for approval
If the “Approve” button is clicked, a Jira/Zendesk ticket is created for the marketing design team
But—if the “Reject” button is pushed, colleagues will be alerted via Slack message
Join us to learn more about this new, human-in-the-loop capability, brought to you by Integration Service connectors.

Per Settore Elettrico, considerati 8 scenari; di cui 6 raggiungono l’obbiettivo:
Scenario1, di riferimento (Business as Usual – BaU)
Scenario1bis, Current Policy Initiatives scenario – CPI
Scenario2, High Energy Efficiency (appliances, new buildings, renovation of existing
buildings, energy savings obligations on energy utilities…): decrease in energy demand of
41% by 2050 as compared to the peaks in 2005-2006;
Scenario3, Diversified supply technologies: no technology is preferred; all energy sources
can compete on a market basis with no specific support measures; de-carbonisation driven by
carbon pricing, with public acceptance of both nuclear and CCS;
Scenario4, High Renewable energy sources (RES): strong support measures for RES: 75%
RES in gross final energy consumption and 97% RES in electricity;
Scenario5, Delayed CCS: similar to Diversified supply technologies scenario but assuming
that CCS is delayed, leading to higher shares for nuclear energy with de-carbonisation driven
by carbon prices rather than technology push;
Scenario6, Low nuclear: similar to Diversified supply technologies scenario but assuming that
no new nuclear (besides reactors currently under construction) is being built resulting in a
higher penetration of CCS (around 32% in power generation).
