Jay Metzger completed an internship project to scan marina blueprints into a digital format. The objectives were to scan the blueprints, align the layers on a base layer, digitize features to create independent layers, and deliver the final files in AutoCAD format. Jay used a scanner and GIS software to scan, align, and mask the layers. The final product included independent digitized feature layers that could be overlaid on the original blueprints or an orthophoto for engineering analysis. Jay gained experience applying GIS and engineering skills to accomplish the client's project objectives.
