identification
of probable
zones for
ground water
propecting in
Sasutan
watershed
• The study focuses on the identification of probable ground
water potential zone of Sasutan watershed located in Dharampur
taluka of Valsad Dist., Gujarat.

interrelated geo – environmental parameters, viz., lithology,
lineament, drainage, slope and landuse.
• GIS is a very powerful tool for identifying potential zones.
• A multi-criteria evaluation is used in GIS to get resultant
thematic map for probable groundwater potential zone of
Sasutan watershed.
• The map indicates very high potentiality of groundwater in
western part of the basin, high in the central part of the basin,
moderate in the eastern part and poor in the northern part of the
basin.
