• An internship for student to gain practical

Special Economic Zones (SEZ) Scheme
• Duty free import/domestic procurement of goods for development, operation and
maintenance of SEZ units.
• 100% Income tax exemption on export income for first 5 years, 50% for next 5 years
thereafter and 50% of the ploughed back export profit for next 5 years.
• Exemption from Central Sales Tax, Service Tax and State sales tax. These have now
subsumed into GST and supplies to SEZs are zero rated under IGST Act, 2017.
• Single window clearance for Central and State level approvals.
Software Technology Parks (STPs)
• 100% Customs duty exemption on imports.
• 100% Central excise duty exemption on indigenous procurement.
• All relevant equipment/goods can be imported (except prohibited items).
• Equipment can also be imported on loan basis/lease.
• 100% FDI is permitted through automatic route.
• Sales in Domestic Tariff Area(DTA) up to 50% of the FOB value of exports permissible.
• Depreciation on computers up to 100% over 5 years is permissible.

crore in 2005-06 to over Rs 35,200 crore in FY 2015-16
