discussion and debate, real progress
has yet to be made on the disparity
between the opportunities available
to men vs. women.
HOW WE SEE IT
5. Which is why it is incredibly important that
directors reflect the audiences they serve.
GiF seeks to represent female filmmakers

11. THERE IS NO BETTER TIME
FOR FEMALE FILMMAKERS
THAN NOW
12. From Tribeca to BFI, the independent film
industry is making a conscious drive for
inclusion, and there is a higher demand for
female filmmakers and female-lead film
collectives within the industry at-large.
Audience and industry alike, more people
want to see films and content with different
perspective, through female lens.
At a time when we consume the majority of
our media and information online, this
presents a huge void in the industry – and an
opportunity for discourse.
WHILE THE GENDER BIAS STILL EXISTS,
WE BELIEVE THE SHIFT TOWARDS
EQUALITY TO BE EXPONENTIAL
