This is an introduction presentation for a sculpture project completed in my 4th grade art classroom.

3. Alberto Giacometti
• Giacometti was a Swish
Sculptor.
• He was a SURREALIST
artist. His work had an
imaginary and dreamlike
quality.
• Most famous for, his
sculptures of people took a
very interesting way to
viewing the human form.

5. In his career, Giacometti took on an artistic
phase when started making his statues of people
sculpture elongated and stretched out. He would work
endlessly seeing how skinny and tall he could
create these sculpture people!

1) I want you to think of a pose of a person doing something.

2) Using wire, we are going to create like a “stick person” of that pose
This is called an
ARMATURE

3) Next, by adding aluminum foil to the armature we can create those
skinny bodies like Giacometti
