Dan Alvarez
CEO and Co-Founder
Dan is an investor entrepreneur and visionary who has helped start and develop several companies over
many years. In the 1980s he started his own equipment leasing company called TKX Leasing. In 1990
through 1995, Dan owned and operated Alvarez Cold Storage, which had over 40 employees. From 1992
to 1995, Dan also owned and operated Alvarez Distribution Systems to sell and deliver products stored at
the Alvarez cold storage facility. From 1995 through the present, Dan has owned and operated two
industrial container facilities in and around the Chicago area. One named Stratford Leasing Company,
operates a 10 acre site for the storage of containers and the second, Land Development Concepts,
developed and operates a 60 acre site for the storage of containers, and is one of the largest such
facilities in the Midwest. Dan is a Vietnam War Veteran.
Sergio Fernandez
Director of Research and Development
Sergio's career in R&D began in 1981 at the University of Havana as a researcher. He became head of the
Food Science & Technology department in 1988 and remained in that position until he relocated to
Finland in 1992. Sergio launched his career in the private sector as a product developer at "Six LTD" an 80
year old Finnish Company specializing in the development and commercialization of seasoning blends to
the food industry throughout Europe, Middle East and Latin America. In 2005 Sergio was promoted to the
Director of Research and Development. In 2011 Sergio moved to the USA continuing his career as head of
R&D at Golden Hill Foods. The Company is fortunate to have Sergio leveraging his global experience in
developing innovative products for the seasoning and ingredients industry.

John is a Food Scientist with over 25 years in the business and started his career with Griffith Laboratories
in their Meat Laboratory. He then moved into a technical sales position and later joined Kraft General
Foods in international sales at their Oscar Mayer Ingredient division. He joined Saratoga Specialties (a
division of Smithfield Foods) as the General Manager of their spice and seasoning manufacturing plant.
He managed the division for many years and then moved on to start his own sales & marketing consulting
company- focusing on natural ingredients and agricultural industries. John is well known in the food
spices and ingredients industry and also brings a wealth of technical, market and innovative expertise to
the Golden Hill Foods team.

J.C. is 31 year veteran of the food industry. He retired from McDonald’s Corporation in 2015 as President
and CEO Ronald McDonald House Charities. He was previously President of McDonald’s Latin America,
overseeing 2,000 restaurants in 29 countries with sales in excess of $5 billion. J.C. also served as SVP, Chief
Supply Chain Officer for North America, where he coordinated food, paper and toy purchases worth more
than $10 billion, as well as logistics and distribution for over 15,000 McDonald’s restaurants in the United
J.C.’s operational experience expands the US borders. He served as VP/General Manager of the Greater
Chicago as well as President for McDonald’s Mexico. J.C. has a B.S. in Biochemical Engineering with minors
in Food Technology and Marine Sciences from the Monterrey Institute of Technology, in Mexico; and an
MBA from the University of Southern California.

based meat products company as well as Ryder Transportation Systems in Miami and the Board of Auto
