KB's AC drives are designed to operate with ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs) which are required by the National Electrical Code in locations where electrical products may contact water. KB's drives contain special software allowing them to operate on GFCI circuits without tripping, which is a standard feature on digital drives and optional on AC hybrid drives. This allows KB drives to operate equipment used near water like boat lifts, food processing equipment, and portable tools plugged into GFCIs.

Inside Cisco IT: Secure and Simplified Cloud Services with ACI
The Cloud is one of the fastest growing solutions today and the significance of the secure multi-tenant data center on business applications is increasing. Cisco IT is building an Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) for Cloud Computing. An ACI environment requires a holistic approach in managing and orchestrating network, server, storage and application resources within a data center and across multiple data centers. This enables Cisco IT to deliver a secure programmable infrastructure that anticipates application requirements and through policies delivers Software as Service offerings to Cisco Business Units. Cisco IT has been a fundamental driver in building and adapting the suite of management tools needed today to orchestrate data center infrastructure and platforms to deliver business services.
Attendees will learn how Cisco IT is designing next-generation application aware solutions and the new policy models required for this journey. Cisco IT is migrating all traditional applications to a radically simplified compute platform and programmable network. A customer wanted to replace an expensive European-made drive controlling a convection oven's stirring fan with an American-made alternative. The oven received unique serial commands from its PLC to provide cooking recipes. KB Electronics engineered a solution using their low-cost KBVF drive and reprogrammed its standard communications module to interpret the proprietary protocol, satisfying the customer's needs at a lower cost.

KB’s AC Drives are designed to operate with GFCI A Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) is required by the US National Electrical Code (NEC) in locations where electrical products are likely to contact water. It is a device that senses small imbalances in electric current. If this imbalance occurs, the GFCI prevents electric shock by rapidly disconnecting the power. GFCI’s will trip when used with most AC Drives. KB’s AC Drives contain special software to allow them to operate with GFCI circuits. This is a standard feature on our Digital AC Drives and optional, with factory programming, on all AC Hybrid Drives. Applications include: Boat Lifts, Commercial Food Processing, Pool Pumps, Biological Safety Cabinets and Portable Equipment used with GFCI’s such as Vacuums, Saws and Pottery Wheels.
