This document discusses the services provided by Great Plains Well Logging for analyzing rock samples collected during drilling. Pyrolysis analysis provides geochemical data on organic matter in formations, including levels of free oil, kerogen potential, and organic discharge. X-ray diffraction is used to determine the mineral composition of formations, including quartz, calcite, dolomite, and clays. Elemental analysis via X-ray fluorescence identifies the concentrations of 31 elements to characterize reservoir stratigraphy and placement of horizontal wellbores.
