George Washington Carver was an African American scientist and inventor who worked at the Tuskegee Institute to promote sustainable farming practices. He discovered hundreds of uses for peanuts and sweet potatoes which improved agriculture and helped farmers. Carver dedicated his life to helping farmers through his research and education efforts.
