2. Good morning, my name is Olivia
and I will tell you about
wonderful places in Poland
Nice watch !!!
3. Poland is a country that extends
across the North European Plain
from the Sudetes and Carpathian
Mountains in the south to the
sandy beaches of the Baltic Sea in
the north.
4. Land form
In Poland, lowlands (below
200 m above sea level)
prevail. They occupy 75% of
the country's area, the
average height is only 173 m
above sea level. The lowlands
are in the north and in the
center, while the mountain
and upland areas in the
south.
5. Poland's climate is temperate with warm (sometimes very hot)
summers, crisp, sunny autumns and cold winters. Snow covers the
mountainous area in the south of Poland (mid-December to April).
Rain falls throughout the year
6. The country's longest and most prominent river is the Vistula at 1,047 kilometres in
length, also the ninth-longest in Europe. Other notable rivers within the administrative
borders are Warta at 808.2 km (502.2 miles), and the Oder at 742 km (461 miles).
7. BALTIC SEA
The Baltic Sea is called the
inland sea of northern
Europe because it is
bordered by land on all
sides, and only a few
shallow straits connect it to
the North Sea. It is situated
in the northern temperate
zone
8. The Polish Baltic coast is 528 kilometres long and extends from Swinoujscie on the islands of Uznam
and Wolin in the west to Krynica Morska on the Vistula Spit in the east. For the most part, Poland has
a smooth coastline, which has been shaped by the continual movement of sand by currents and winds.
This continual erosion and deposition has formed cliffs, dunes, and spits, many of which have
migrated landwards to close off former lagoons, such as Lebsko Lake in Slowinski National Park.
9. The eight islands include: Szeroki Ostrow,
Czarci Ostrow, Island Pajecza, Island Kaczor
and others. The surrounding towns are Popielno,
Glodowo, Bear’s Rog, Okartowo, New Guty,
Zdegowo and Luknajno.
Poland's largest lake is Sniardwy with the surface
area of 113.4 km2, followed by Mamry with 104 km2
There are eight islands on the Sniardwy lake.
Sniardwy was formed as a result of the retreat of
the ice cover and drainage of flood waters.
10. Today, Sniardwy is a
popular place for
various aquatics sports
including fishing,
sailing, boating,
kayaking and many
others. Tourists also
appreciate various boat
tours through connected
surrounding lakes.
In addition, We can do ice skating in the
winter months
11. In Poland, we distinguish the Swietokrzyskie
Mountains, the Carpathian Mountains and
the Sudetes.
12. The Sudetes is a
mountain range in the
south-west of Poland
and northern Czech
Republic, a relatively
small patch is in
Germany; the highest
peak is Sniezka - 1603
m above sea level
13. THE CARPATHIANS
The Polish Carpathians
cover 9.63% of the total
area of the Carpathians
The Carpathians are part of
the great mountain system -
the Alpine-Himalayan
chain. They are the second
largest mountain range in
Europe
14. THE CARPATHIANS are not one mountain range, but rather
consist of many geologically and orographically distinct
mountain ranges. The variety of landscapes is comparable to the
Alps. At the same time, these mountains rarely reach heights
above 2,500 m above sea level, so you cannot find here such a
clear mountain postglacial relief. There is almost no snow left
for many years in the Carpathians.
15. Swietokrzyskie Mountains is a low mountain
range in south-eastern Poland, in the central
part of the Kielce Upland. The highest peak is
Lysica in the Lyso mountains range. The name of
the mountains comes from the relics of the Holy
Cross kept in the monastery on Lysa Mountain
16. Warsaw
Warsaw is the capital and largest city of Poland. The town stands on the
Vistula River in east-central Poland and its population is officially
estimated at 1.8 million residents
17. Ok, it's over for today, I invite you to visit these
interesting and beautiful places. Regards Olivia.
