A Partnership To
Leverage Technology
History of CE Electronics
CE Electronics was
established in 1980 by
Garry and Dawn Courtney
as a family business doing
small electrical component
jobs for a variety of
industrial corporations.
In 1982 Haughton Elevator,
Toledo OH was the first
elevator company to do
business with CE.
Haughton requested an LCD
style display for their new
elevator line.
Other elevator companies
soon followed suit.
History of CE Electronics
From a replacement for the
Otis Roto-Dial display came
our 3 wire Micro Comm
serial link communication
that would be the basis for
the product line for which
we are known in the
industry today.
CE Electronics Today
CE Electronics has product throughout the
United States and all over the world
Burj Khalifa, Dubai Chrysler Bldg Space Needle One World Trade
• 100+ Employees
• 45,000 sq ft facility
• In house engineering
and test lab
• Two types of technology
used in our products
today; through hole and
surface mount.
• Surface mount
technology has allowed
us to get more electronic
components into much
smaller packaging.
• A third surface mount
machine was added this
past year to keep up with
demand.
Leveraging Technology
CE Electronics is the first
in the industry to utilize
QR Codes and YouTube
videos in place of the
traditional wiring diagram.
VS.
Destination Based Displays
Destination based technology has created a need in the
industry. CE Electronics was the first to respond
with displays to meet this need.
Elite DisplaysThe Elite PI makes use of
the flat screen technology
taking over our industry.
These screens provide a
multi-functional unit
designed to display both
custom graphics and text,
such as:
• advertisements
• tenant or building
information
• text-based messages
Elite PI+
Headline News, Stock
Market, Weather
The Elite PI Plus subscription is
a service that will provide the
screens with additional
features such as Headline
News, the Stock Market, and
the local weather. The
combination of the Elite
screens and the Elite PI+
subscription service will make
these elevator displays the
most dynamic and flexible
position indicators available in
the market today.
Managed Content
Due to customer demand,
CE Electronics is offering a
managed content service
for the Elite PI screens.
This service allows the
building manager to turn
over the responsibility of
creating, scheduling,
adding and removing
screen content.

Vertical Assessment Associates as an elevator consulting firm has specified
touch screen systems for elevator car operating panels, and have found
them to be fully functional and code compliant.
With the advent of Destination Dispatch Systems and the great
technological improvements in touch screen technology, the use of
systems and devices utilizing touch screens in elevator operational
controls will undoubtedly become more prevalent.
