The meeting minutes summarized a tropical smoothie fundraiser on October 15th, a pop can drive that raised $100, and upcoming community service projects including raking leaves and volunteering at a soup kitchen. Social events were announced like a pumpkin patch, haunted yard, and photos posted on Facebook could earn points. New e-board members were named and scholarship opportunities through NSCS were mentioned including a $250 chapter scholarship.

Scholarships

o First Generation Scholar Award
 NSCS will award (5) $1,000 scholarships to assist First Generation college
students in their journey to a degree.
o Merit Award
 Each year NSCS awards $1,000 scholarships to thirty outstanding and
deserving new members across the country to help defray the cost of
tuition expenses.

3. o The Amy Shopkorn Student Affairs Award
 Amy Shopkorn is a former NSCS employee. Two $1,000 awards are
granted to students who have created a positive impact on their campus
o Due to our Gold Membership Star Status from last year, our chapter is eligible to
grant one of our members with a $250 scholarship from the national office! Here's
what you need to do:
 1. Type a 300 word, or fewer essays on why you feel you exemplify the
three pillars of NSCS within our chapter.
 2. Email me your essay before October 8th (last day to send it in is the
7th) at clark3ns@cmich.edu.
