The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS) is an honors organization that recognizes high-achieving students and provides opportunities for career development, leadership, service, and scholarships. NSCS offers over half a million dollars in scholarships annually and connects members to study abroad programs and career opportunities. NSCS encourages its members to commit to scholarship, leadership, and service to impact their campus and local community.

5. Senior citizen prom: Organized a valentine’s prom for the elderly
so they could have an opportunity to come out of their routine and
have a good time. We were able to interact with them and have
quality time.

Leadership workshop: Designed to highlight the different
leadership styles that a person exhibits. Participants will realize their
strongest and weakest leadership attributes in order to work more
effectively in group settings.

members could get to know each other better and share

9. Planning to Achieve Collegiate Excellence: NSCS
partnered with Poe middle school (20 min away) to meet
with students from that school on a recurring basis to both
encourage them to graduate high school and excel in their
10. Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID):
National college preparation program offered as an
academic support class held during the school day in 23
Fairfax County middle and high schools.
11. Boys and Girls Club of Fairfax: NSCS members assist with after
school programs and serve as positive role models/mentors.
13. March to College Day (March): NSCS host PACE program
participants on their campus for a day of activities to give them an
example of what a day in the life of a college student can feel like.
14. Cherry Blossom Festival Picnic (April 6): A picnic during
the Cherry Blossom Festival were members can just come
out and enjoy DC, the flowers, and spend time with each
15. Relay for Life (April 27): When you walk to end cancer at a Relay
event, it's your opportunity to not only honor cancer survivors and
remember loved ones lost, but also to raise awareness about what
we can do to stay well from cancer and raise money to help fuel the
world's largest walk to end cancer.
16. Bowling Party (Feb 23 at 5:20 pm at the
Rappahannock Shuttle Stop; we'll take the cue bus): A
fun way for members to get to know each other and have

fair for organizations that have internships, co-ops, full-
time jobs, and part-time jobs. It is open to all students
and alumni of George Mason University.
