3. GDP (GROSS DOMESTIC PRODUCT)
DEFINATION :- GDP is the final value of the goods and
services produced within the geographic boundaries of a
country during a specific period of time, normaly in a
year.
GDP growth rate is an important indicator of the economic
performance of a country.
For developing countries GDP plays an important role in its
economy.
4. EXPLANATION OF THREE LETTER
In GDP
G stands for GROSS
In the production of goods there are several factor
such as
a) labour c) Land
b) Machinery d) Building
All the above factors excluded in the pricing of goods. Only
the final Production counts. And this final production is known as
GROSS.
D stands for DOMESTIC
Value of all goods and services produced within the country
i.e produced inside a fixed geographical boundary.
5. Income from abroad not added in GDP

9. What is Bhutan GNH?
Bhutan's Gross National Happiness Index. The phrase
'gross national happiness' was first coined by the 4th King
of Bhutan, King Jigme Singye Wangchuck, in 1972 when he
declared, “Gross National Happiness is more important than
Gross Domestic Product.”
Gross National Happiness (also known by the acronym: GNH)
is a philosophy that guides the government of Bhutan. It
includes an index which is used to measure the
collective happiness and well-being of a population.
What is Bhutan happiness index ?
10. ADVANTAGES OF GDP
The gross domestic product (GDP) is one of the primary
indicators used to gauge the health of a country's
economy. It represents the total dollar value of all goods
and services produced over a specific time period; you
can think of it as the size of the economy.
ADVANTAGES OF GNH
GNH balances material and non-
material values with the conviction
that humans want to search for
happiness
11. ADVANTAGES OF GNH OVER GDP
GDP has failed to measure on whether it has
benefited the nation or not as its only focus has
been on the on economy.
Measurment of GDP isn’t accurate as there is fear
that statistic errors along with pollution factors
aren’t being included, which would affect the overall
performance.
GDP also fails to measure things like quality
improvement, this is due to the fact GDP can only
measure the price as value, but not the quality of
goods being produced.
12. ADVANTAGES OF GNH OVER GDP
GDP fails to measure more delecate forms of
wealth, which are maybe more important to the
average persons well being.
‘BUT’
In contrast, GNH has become a
more complete indicator as it
draws upon a broader set of
social, environmental and health
measurement
13. ADVANTAGES OF GNH OVER GDP
GNH aims to evaluate sustainability, wellbeing and
quality of life.

17. CONCLUSION
It is concluded that GDP value shows only the
materialistic development of a nation, but GNH
shows the whole sustainable development of
the nation.
A country can achieve highest GDP with in a
limited period by more investment in production
of goods and services. But it cannot achieve a
good and healthy GNH in short period of time.
And one more thing is GNH value is not
calculated in terms of dollar. It is calculated
form the individual happiness.
